March 28, 2010 8:37 pm I haven't read this issue yet but I have read the Whedon "Astonishing" run. I love Whedon's writing & I loved that book. Having said that, I too was extremely put off by his handling of Kitty at the end. First of all, I really didn't understand why he gave her such a grim fate. Everything I ever heard about his love of Kitty & the old 80's X books made no sense why he would take her out like that. He's even been quoted as saying Buffy was loosely patterned after Kitty. Well listen, I grew up with Kitty. When Chris Claremont wrote in X-Men 138 back in 1980, "She's 13 1/2, cute, spunky--& she walks through walls", I was hooked. I was 14, (still trying to figure out how she's like...20 now & I'm 44). However, having said all that, I will read this issue purely on your recomendation. Thanks!

January 17, 2010 3:06 pm Even though I'm now 43 years of age, I'm going to attempt to channel my inner child  by explaining this extremely well written book in a 13 year olds perspective. " Man, did you see Galactica 1980      #4?  It was totally awsome. The Cylons came to earth & started killing everyone, & the Galactican's fought back with their flying Viper bike things, which was really cool by the way. The Cylons shot one missile at Dr. Zee & that punk smartmouth got his man. Then they loaded the Vipers up with nukes & sacrificed themselves by ramming into the basestars, including Adama himself. Before he went though, he asked that stupid Baltar why he betrayed the 12 colonies in the first place & he said, "immortality" & then showed his butt that he wasn't gonna ever get it & crammed his nuke loaded Viper up his a$$. Hope my mom didn't hear that.  Then they were building a new Battlestar called Adama at the end & it said there was gonna be a Galactica 1981 coming soon. Man, that was better than playing Cosmic Conflict on my Magnavox Odyssey2." Yup, this is the exuberance I would have had if this was an actual episode back in the day. Thanks Marc Guggenheim & Dynamite. Kudos.
January 17, 2010 2:31 pm When I was 11. a wonderful thing happened. Star Wars. When I was 12, lightning striked twice with the coming of Battlestar Galactica. Then here comes Galactica 1980....which was ABC's way of saying...we screwed up....let's make it worse with this poor, sad, pathetic farce. Now, someone as cool as Marc Guggenheim comes along to fill that void with story & direction Galactica 1980 should have taken. Thank the Lords Of Kobol for comicbooks.
