March 2, 2009 7:56 pm These guys know their epic space battles and if the Inhumans 1 shot was a taste of what we can expect then I'm on board.
February 25, 2009 8:43 pm So pumped for this episode. John episodes are always so intense! Also want to point out the 316 episode further driving home the Locke-as-christ angle; John/316 anybody?
February 24, 2009 1:44 pm I got into this discussion last night, and after some thought I have come to the conclusion that the point of any work of art regardless of the medium, is to be experienced. When I see a photograph of the Mona Lisa it enables me to experience that work of art that I otherwise don't have the opprtunity to experience first hand. If that photograph so inspires me, I can then choose to go experience the original in a more profound way. Unfortunately for some, a movie is the only way for them to experience what Watchmen is really about. If the film does it's job, it entices people to see the original work and gain the pure, intended experience. If they are not so inclined then they probably wouldn't feel as strongly about the source material in the first place. The fact that someone profits from the translation should not disqualify it's relevance.
February 23, 2009 2:57 pm TNC has a point. I work at a major video game publisher so comics are discussed openly and often, but too often have I had to leave a conversation cringing because the consensus was that the latest X-Force was "what we've been waiting for comics to get back to". I can count on one hand the amount of times where i've recommended an indie or 2nd tier book that we've lauded on the site to someone at work and they had heard of it or were reading it already.
February 23, 2009 2:29 am What is the approximate duration of Tiki stops and is there a planned course I can follow? I ask because i'm planning on coming from LA and traffic may cause me to miss the 9 o clock start time, but i'd certainly love to hop on (off?) the wagon along the way.
February 16, 2009 5:57 pm Those DVD roms would be even more enticing if they could be used on Ipods much like the uclick stuff available on itunes

@Crippler, you're totally right and that explains why Locke and Jack bump heads so much even though their experiences mirror each others.

@mikegraham i think that maybe the "security system" corrupts people and makes them act in the interests of the smoke monster but that did intrigue me as well.

February 12, 2009 4:10 am GREAT EPISODE! I've always felt that Locke represented "Faith" thematically but in this episode they totally set him up as the christ figure. All his suffering and perils throughout his life culminating with his moment with Jacob or God at the bottom of the well and the discussion of sacrifice. of course Jacob appears as a "christian shepard" and tells locke what he must do. Once he does it the very next shot is of a cross at the church with ben, jack, and sun. This leads me to believe that locke will somehow be resurrected eventually. This show is impeccably crafted in every way. excellent, excellent episode.
January 28, 2009 1:07 pm ohcaroline is right; once Old Man Logan finishes, Aaron's Wolverine run begins with Garney. I'm sticking around for that.
