Pick of the Week #748 – The Flash #761
September 14, 2020 1:45 pm Oh sure, and I did choose part of a longer run with the start of Jason Aaron's Thor. For the top three single volumes I wanted them to be self-contained though. In my opinion storylines in longer runs have benefitted from the build-up and I cannot neccesarily distinguish my enjoyment of the story vs the satisfaction from delivering promises made earlier.

Pick of the Week #748 – The Flash #761
September 13, 2020 4:44 pm DC
I'm not well read in DC, but the 80s Batman classics I read mid-noughties and weren't as impactful of some of the more recent stuff. Batman: Black Mirror, Gotham Central (Omnibus exists, but probably cheating) or Mister Miracle would be my other contenders.
New Frontier
Batman: Universe
Superman Smashes the Klan
Marvel
Really hard as Marvel doesn't have as many single volumes.
Thor: God of Thunder 1-11 (God Butcher and God Bomb arcs. I think I'd have to get 1-18 in Jason Aaron's complete collection)
The Vision
Alias (Omnibus)
This doesn't let me choose first half of Bendis' Daredevil, Brubaker's Cap, Squirrel Girl or Captain Britain and MI:13.

Pick of the Week #697 – Superman’s Pal Jimmy Olsen #2
August 25, 2019 5:54 pm Just realised Once and Future was last week! Therefore the question would have been more appropriate last episode.

Pick of the Week #697 – Superman’s Pal Jimmy Olsen #2
August 25, 2019 5:49 pm Looking forward to the booksplode! Something I actually own, so will reread prior to listening.
In your discussion on shocking villains I started thinking about good reappearances of C-list villains, where a writer did something very interesting. My mind jumped to Alias (perhaps as you referenced it) and Bendis' use of Purple Man. Shocking how sinister Bendis made him.
I was looking forward to your take on Once and Future. Did you read and not feel worth talking about (or not read)?

Talksplode #85 – Tom King
June 20, 2019 4:10 pm Great Talksplode!
How likable is Tom King?
I loved the story on Mr Miracle's genesis.

Booksplode #31 – Daredevil: Born Again
May 30, 2019 5:11 pm I finished my reread on Monday and have been eagerly awaiting this booksplode.
Born Again is great, and I loved your enthusiasm.
I appreciated that Conor called out the great J Jonah Jameson page - he came across very well. I had a similar feeling about the brief Gladiator appearance, and how he didn't want to make the Daredevil costume until Matt gave permission.
"With a voice that could command a God
And Does."
"There is no corpse.
There is no corpse.
There is no corpse."
I know Josh was exaggerating, but I'm confident you can find something for the next booksplode that isn't pointless. Maybe a re-read of a favourite from the video show era?
Something like Daytripper? Or of course you could cut your pull list and do a reread of 60 issues of Scalped!

Pick of the Week #682 – Excellence #1
May 13, 2019 3:08 am Your discussion about Excellence intrigued me enough I bought the issue digitally and paused the show to read it. Great first issue, and I've subscribed to the series.
Vast majority of my comics reading is trades, and it's a rare occurence that I try a new series so immediately based on a recomendation/review, but whatever you said worked, so thanks!

Pick of the Week #669 – Daredevil #1
February 10, 2019 11:58 am I don't think you have dropped off The Seeds - David Aja series. I'm trade waiting it and only 2 issues of a 4 issue mini have come out so far.
Enjoyed the Vertigo conversation. I have lots of them on my 'to read' list as Scalped / DMZ is my era. Currently backtracking and reading a Preacher trade every 3 months. Love it!

2018 All Media Year End Roundup
December 26, 2018 8:26 am I've just watched a couple of episodes of The Toys That Made Us. It's not surprising I enjoy an episode on Star Wars, a franchise I'm invested in, but I can't believe how engrossed I am in the history of Barbie. Thanks for recommending it (again, you've recommended before, but this time I listened!)
