I laughed out loud at the last panel on page 4.
Was it just me, or was there an art mix-up on the second to last page, when Luke Cage and Jessica Jones are talking about her costume, but she's drawn in her street clothes?
@noro26 That looks like Bucky Cap speaking to uncostumed Steve Rogers. It was the Kree Supreme Intelligence who empowered Noh-varr. Bucky and Steve were just observing.
I thought this was a great issue, and probably the best single Bendis issue I've read in a good while. Not sure about the new costume, but I'm keeping an open mind.
As a subscriber to Marvel's Digital Comics Unlimited service, I'm disappointed that Marvel is pushing forward with this initiative while still not supporting portable devices for Digital Unlimited subscribers. I guess "unlimited" means unlimited as long as you don't consider being tied to your desktop as a limit.
That being said, I think this is a positive step, and I'm eagerly waiting to see what Longbox and/or Apple have in the pipeline.
Big trade week: Battlefields Tankies, Sleeper Season 2, Umbrella Academy Dallas, Magneto Testament.
BQ: I helped my old roommate move to Machais Maine not too long ago. The move went fine, but man is Machais far away from... anything.
I came for the Rucka, but it was J.H. Williams who blew me away with his work this week. I especially liked what he did with his panel layouts. By using something closer to a traditional grid layout for the out-of-costume and down tempo moments, then shifting to non-traditional, angular, almost shattered layouts for the action sequences, he really raised the level of tension and excitement on those pages.
I don't usually read Bat-books, but I'm onboard for this run.
I'm very optimistic about Detective Comics. Big week all around.
