October 6, 2013 4:21 pm I had a look through the All-New X-Men Special in the comic shop but thought the dialogue seemed a bit off so didn't pick it up. Think my pick would have been the regular issue of A-NX-M this week as Batman B&W wasn't that great. Surprised there was no mention of Marvel Knights Spider-Man which I thought was pretty decent. For fantasy books how about the ones that Becky Cloonan has been self-publishing like Wolves and The Mire? They've been very good.
September 30, 2013 12:13 pm I'm hoping they use Bruce Wayne and Harvey Dent at least. Could be fun to see glimpses of a young Bruce. Probably early Selina Kyle as well.
September 30, 2013 12:11 pm I totally agree. After an average issue last time Saga was stunning again and that page was one of the main reasons. Funny, beautiful and moving all at the same time.
September 3, 2013 9:24 am Hi gentlemen, I've been visiting this site for about five years now and have found it an invaluable resource. In fact I was just hoping to bone up on other members' comments on Thor 12 for a review I'm writing for another site but I can see all that stuff has now gone! Anyway, when I started getting back into comics your podcasts and site was pivotal in forming my reading tastes. You even replied to my emails which was very nice of you. I've since gone on to make my own comics and even form a small publishing company in the UK and a lot of that was down to you and your site. You will be missed, for one thing, without my pull list I've now got no idea what comics are coming out this week! On the plus side I really think your podcasts are going to get even better because of this move! Thanks again.
July 30, 2013 7:38 am I think Summer Blonde and Shortcomings were originally serialised in this, so those are collected editions.
July 29, 2013 4:23 pm Added this to my standing order at my LCS when the last issue came out. Hope they remember...
July 16, 2013 3:49 pm Sounds like all the conversations I have about whether or not to go to Glastonbury each year!
July 10, 2013 8:11 am The Odyssey was quite likely written before The Iliad, so technically what we have there is the first prequel...
July 8, 2013 4:16 pm Oddly I've actually already read this. It came out in my comic shop in the UK last week. I think this might have been due to a mix up as the shipment of issue 111 had been misplaced and was replaced last week. Or it was a treat to the UK for the last issue being so late. Either way I had two issues of WD last week and it was good!
June 27, 2013 5:20 am I don't really like Ennis' work in general. I tried Preacher and The Boys, thinking they're the kind of thing I would tend to like, but they left me cold. I think it could be that I just don't share his sense of humour, it's a bit puerile for me and leaves a bad taste in my mouth. However, I'm currently working my way through the first trade of this and I love it. It's all the qualities of his that I like without the bits I don't. Finally an Ennis book I can get behind.
