Name: Matthew Swanson

Bio: I'm a 28 year old guy from Connecticut. I'm currently a high school history teacher.  I also run the school comic book club. lol I got into comics through the Ultimate line after seeing X-Men The Movie and I haven't looked back since. I started out as an X-Men fan but have fallen in love with the Avengers since Bendis took over. I'm primarily a Marvel fan but do read a few DC books every month. My favorite writer is Brian K Vaughan and I really like Steve McNiven and Michael Gaydos' art.   I hope to make some new friends since I dont know anyone who reads comics in my real life.

Bendis’ Run on AVENGERS Ends in November. What Other Titles Are Wrapping Up?
August 15, 2012 5:36 pm I think Age of Ultron is going to be a separate event. I began reading Avengers with Bendis. Before him I was an X-Men only guy. His departure is definately the end of an era. If it wasn't Hickman and Remender taking over I would probably be seriously consider cutting the titles from my pull list. Hickman has not disappointed me yet and since Uncanny X-Force neither has Remender. I'll be sad to see Avengers Academy go but I won't mind not spending the 4 or 8 bucks a month. I definately dont like what looks to be a dead Jessica Jones on the cover of NA. Boo to that!

Comic Book Casting: The GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY Movie
July 16, 2012 10:48 am I really like this cast. Its amazing how much Olivia kind of looks like Gamora already just paint her green. For Rocket I love the idea of Dinklage he is so good on Game of Thrones. I wonder if they aren't going to try a costume for Rocket since Groot will likely be motion capture. I just hope they keep the "I AM GROOT!" I don't know how you have this team take on Thanos and win if you are going to put him in opposition to the Avengers next unless this is about him collecting the infinity gems and they prevent him from getting the last one which ends up on earth and he goes after it there?
