November 2, 2011 10:28 pm -I'm a huge sports fan. Hockey and Baseball are my two favorites. (Phillies and Flyers fan living in NYC) -I was a history major, and continue be a history buff. -I love the short story. Whether I'm writing, reading, or listening to them; it's become a hobby of mine. -I really enjoy fables, fairy tales, and myths. I not only enjoy reading them, but learning about their historical and cultural significance. -I'm a big fighting game fan. I used to play in Street Fighter tournaments around the country, but as I got older I just got away from it. I still follow the scene, and love to watch tournaments on live streams. I consider it a sport.
November 2, 2011 10:19 pm Well done. You've said everything I would want to say about this book and this series. It's one of my favorites. I'm glad it got the ending it deserved.
October 29, 2011 5:14 am When reviewing something, saying it's "great," "fun," "awful," or "craptastic" just doesn't cut it. You should explain why it's those things. To be fair when you called said work garbage, you fully explained why you believed it to be garbage. Was it harsh? Extremely, but I felt you backed up your opinion just fine. Yes it's objective, but at least you gave the listener reasons behind your opinion. I still get your point in this article, but there's a big difference between what you did and when people just call something crap.
October 26, 2011 6:18 pm Loved it. I'm a fan of Bachalo's art, and Aaron gives us a lot of humor here. The book is not only going off in a different direction, we get a different tone than what we're used to. I'm on board. It's kind of funny how the idea of a huge mutant school hasn't really been explroed much in X-Men history. Morrison was the only guy to touch on it. I'm looking forward to Aaron's take. One little nit pick. Wolverine threatens to unleash the kids on Kilgore. Isn't this completely contradicting his Schism stance? It was a throw away line, but it really should've been nixed.
October 24, 2011 11:10 pm They may have just been treading water until Schism. Hopefully the book finds its purpose now.
October 24, 2011 11:10 pm @TomSwift I hear you. I just don't like the idea of it as an alternate reality. To me, the emotional part of the original story was that the characters were willingly erasing their reality for ours. I like the idea that that world was gone. I've sort of ignored all the AoA stories that came out since.
October 24, 2011 7:27 pm Anyone else have a problem with the dialogue? Every single female is called a bitch constantly. Harley's dialogue is atrocious. She's reduced to calling people dumbasses over and over. Took me out of the game a little. The game play itself was a blast. I'm at 70%, just looking for those Riddler Trophies.
October 24, 2011 7:23 pm Short hair means 616 Blink who was recently resurrected during Necrosha. Long hair means AoA Blink. Not to get too geeky, but I still don't see AoA as an alternate timeline. The whole point of the original story was that it was the same timeline. Damn. I got too geeky. Sorry.
October 20, 2011 2:44 am A nice review. Uncanny was the book that got me into comics, but I don't get the sentimentality over a number. The book, characters, and creative teams aren't going anywhere. Also, in a mere 56 issues, you'll get your proper numbering back. That being said, great review.
October 19, 2011 1:56 am Besides the initial shock value, I can't really see Jean being that interesting long term. In my made up continuity mind, she's still dead from the original Phoenix Saga. Do we really need another powerful Summers/Grey telepath? We got Hope, Nathan, Nate, and Rachel. I'd rather them be explored a bit more.
