Man this review was hilarious, made my week!

I didn't end up picking this book up at the lcs this week and it looks like I didn't miss out. I hope that this issue isn't a hint at what is instore post Batman RIP (quality wise).

@stuclach: Couldn't agree more dude!

This cover is great, except for her god-awful outfit! C'mon, mid-drift shirt, really, does it help her fly faster...WHATS THE DEAL? I haven't read the newest Action Comics issue yet, but I hope they fix it, maybe she'll get that superwoman outfit?

December 16, 2008 1:27 am Blah! This used to be one of my favorite titles but lately it’s been missing all the stuff that was so great about the title when Aaron first started. Where did the crazy over the top B-movie action vibe go?.

I loved everything up up to and including the Ghost Rider goes to jail arc. Danny Ketch…you suck...bring back the nurses from hell and ghoul infested highways damnit!!!=P

By the way, Hell yes the variant cover looks insane for this issue!

Ouch Jim, ease up on the guy!

Sounds like you really went on an all out offensive against this guy Chris. Even pulling out the sorcerer hand motions," I may or may not have wiggled my fingers at him like a sorceror" is hilarious though.

While I think Chris was a bit overzealous, proclaiming to your guests that at 9 p.m. you are going to bed and reading Twilight is just asking for it.

P.S.: I can't believe you are putting Twilight on the same level as comics man! American tradition vs vampire books aimed at teenage girls? That's just cold =P

Wow... another gem moment in this book:

"You wonder, perhaps how I can describe events at which I was not present, in which I did not participate. I confess that I do not know myself. But would I tell you if I did know? Questions, Questions,Questions. Let us shift our attention..."

What poetic grace!

Someone tell me when Dini gets back.... =/

Sorry, but this comic was nothing to write home about, solid and well thought review though! I think a little too much credit is being given to O'Neil about his "symbolism". This issue features Millicent Mayne, a character who really has no business being in this issue and to me comes off as completely random. Is anyone wondering how she gained the power to, I guess,"feel  Gotham"? O'Neil addresses this concern with such poetic grace*cringe*:

"You wonder, perhaps how I can describe events at which I was not present, in which I did not participate. I confess that I do not know myself. But would I tell you if I did know? Questions, Questions,Questions. Let us shift our attention..."

Wow, this was definitely not a great comeback for O Neil. This read like pointless filler that really shouldn't follow up RIP. I laughed when Alfred said "I'll have you favorite breakfast ready"...god, what crap! Nightwing is booking it overtime to take out a huge player in Batman's rogue gallery, Bruce is missing, and all Alfred can say is I'll have your breakfast ready?!

Only Dini belongs on this book after the fantastic hugh arc previous to this.

November 29, 2008 3:13 am I agree about trade waiting this book. Unfortunately from the solicitations in Feb 2009, theres no way in hell I can until the next arc finishes.
November 26, 2008 8:20 pm I believe that Dennis O'Neil is writing the issue and that Gaiman is solicited to write the Batman issue in Feb 2009. Gaiman starts his 2 issue mini in Batman #686

Not to get off subject, but you guys really take out and read a comic during a bus or train ride? As portable as floppies are, they seem quite a nuisance to carry around, especially if your in the mind of keeping them in relatively good condition. How do you carry them around? Floppies are pretty flimsy and in my experience, easily damaged. "portability"..... ya for how long =P

The portability aspect being touted here is definitely becoming a thing of the past. Iphones, netbooks, portable gaming devices, and e-readers definitely trump floppies in terms of portability. If you don't believe me go to your local airport, wifi hotspot, starbucks, or college. The people there don't seem to mind their clunky digital devices. Hell, I hear the next update for iphones will allow you to download podcasts directly from the internet, that screams portability to me, imagine something similar with comics.
