September 5, 2013 1:12 pm Sigh. It was the POTW podcast that hooked me and I only gradually started checking the site, but over time it became more and more of a go-to destination. You guys kept the place classy and friendly -- which is a rarity in any internet community. Thanks for creating a place where people could exchange opinions without getting petty or political. Thanks guys. I can see this was difficult for you, but you've created something very cool and it still lives on. Looking forward to the next podcast -- especially since I'll have no advance clue about the pick.
    August 29, 2013 3:22 pm Must've been some picnic!
    August 19, 2013 12:35 pm Gotcha.
August 15, 2013 3:37 pm You can go to the Comedy Network site in Canada. Or google "Media Hint." I suggest the latter.
August 15, 2013 12:11 pm I agree that this issue felt redundant and unnecessarily complicated a simple and time-tested origin story. In fact, as of this issue I am done with this book. If Snyder wants to help DC flog its dead horse, that's his business. This was one of the last life rafts in the sinking New 52 ship for me. But this issue just smacked me in the face with how pointless all of this is. Bill Finger told this story in about six panels. Miller (pre-crazy) added some nice dramatic flourish. Now we need holographic projecting spheres from daddy's treasure box to inspire Bruce's new persona? And WHY couldn't he have the pre New 52 costume at the start of his career? That metal gauntlet on the cover just pissed me off. I just don't need to read this. Feels like fanfic. All that said, if by "Miller's quote," you mean Bruce's statement, "I shall become a bat." That line goes back much further than Miller. Bill Finger wrote that one in the very first telling of Batman's origin. You know... back when it was simple, so we could just get on with actual stories.
July 18, 2013 3:44 pm If you say ANYTHING was created by Bob Kane, you have to put either "created by" or "Bob Kane" in finger quotes.
June 27, 2013 12:42 pm Say what you want, but Xeen Arrow is a Jack Kirby creation!
May 22, 2013 12:47 pm That scene just completely took me out of the movie. If you know where it came from, how could it not?
April 3, 2013 8:45 pm Even the lettering is rendered to mimic John Workman's style from back in the day! Great stuff.
