March 12, 2013 9:20 am Agreed. Damien was a great Robin. Personally, I didn't want him to "grow up". I wanted him to stay 10 years old for years and years. That's the beauty of Comic books. Time DOESN'T have to move at OUR pace. Writers want characters to grow old like THEY do. It's selfish. It's......what's the word...hubris? It's a way of making YOURSELF more important than the character. Like saying, "Hey, I have to get old, why shouldn't they?" Because, you self absorbed idiot, they're a fictional character. Everyone who says, 'A character needs to grow...etc." is full of it. Spider-Man is a boy who receives super powers and juggles High School and being a super hero. Not some guy working for a company in NYC. They RUIN these books by putting their own mortality into them. Selfish. Arrogant. Short-sighted.
February 25, 2013 8:18 am I still buy Comics. Paper Comic books. Why? Because I like the guy who owns the place and I like seeing my other comic addicts on Wednesday. But I gotta tell ya, after the ending of ASM #700, twenty or so different Avenger titles after the success of the movie, the re-booted Superman, and now killing off the most interesting character in the Batman family, I'm just getting a little sick of it. It seems these guys have no respect for people who BUY their product. Twenty-five or Thirty dollars a week to get kicked in the balls every couple of months. Killing characters (even temporarily) has always been an easy way of boosting sales. But it's lazy. Hickman's run on Fantastic Four revitalized the title and he didn't kill anyone. Damn, I gotta go to work.
