February 20, 2012 1:09 pm Send him to D.C.! By doing so he can say whatever he wants, change his mind, and then say the complete opposite thing. He can also do essentially nothing and blame all the 'red tape'. By doing this the X editors can justify his absence and say that he is working within the system to change it.

February 20, 2012 10:17 am Thanks for the recap! Excellent and fun reading as ever. Loved the Butch and Sundance reference. :) Isn't it about time that Lori asked her husband to kill her attempted rapist? I hope that people from Philly aren't too upset as being portrayed as complete douchebags... One small correction though, Lori stabbed windshield zombie with the turn signal stalk off the steering column. But it doesn't really make much of a difference, really. And when are we going to find out what CDC guy whispered in Rick's ear?? I am aware that this is my own 'what's in the closet Bendis' problem.
February 17, 2012 10:32 pm As a counterpoint Mr Hickman, alcoholics and addicts have the mantra, 'once an addict, always an addict.' So, why do you bring up an example that kinda counters the point you are making??
February 17, 2012 10:29 pm God bless Anchorman!
February 17, 2012 10:21 pm Pssst, Psst. (hey Jeremey c'mere. Little secret, these aren't actual people) Seriously, you cannot be considering that getting rid of a fictional character is anywhere near to the same thing as absolving domestic abuse, can you??
February 17, 2012 9:55 pm TomSwift: I think that you missed wally's point again. (Please correct me if I am wrong wally) The 'actor' doesn't have any say in it. It is society that has to dismiss it. Nobody is arguing that Pym is wallowing or stuck due to his actions, it is us, the readers, who will not let it pass. OJ doesn't think of himself as a murderer, we do. His great work in athletics and as a comedic actor are completely secondary to the belief that he is a murderer. Pete Rose cheated his game, he is the 'Hit King' and that comes after his betting. The majority of comic readers are stuck on this, for whatever reason, as such, the writers will continue to use it as background. It's that simple.

February 10, 2012 11:23 am Pretty straight on point Jason. I agree with all you have here, except the part about making the lawyers happy. This kind of stuff is so boring that it only makes managing partners happy. ;) A lot of the potential cash is likely to be tied to the 2005-6 agreement and how the agreement negotiated rights and corresponding monetary rewards to future non-comic entertainment endeavors.
February 10, 2012 11:15 am @Jason; That depends on your definition of 'putting the genie back in the bottle.' While the information that this is still unsettled cannot be removed from the public sphere, this can still be settled without getting nasty. A vast majority of disagreements are still settled even after the first court filings are submitted. This is just another step in the negotiation. And as it is a civil suit, especially one dealing with Hollywood properties, it is likely that it will be settled and not fully litigated and the settlement sealed by the courts. This does not mean that information will not get out, just that the both parties will ask for this to be sealed and that the court would likely grant the request.
