Huh…. I remember when The Dark Knight Rises reviews came out and I had the emotional equivalent to eye-rolling when…

I am going to admit something. I stopped reading this comic after issue 2. But when I saw the title…

October 15, 2012 2:09 am Everything as of late from the studio has the reactionary signs of trying to take advantage of an unexpected hit. Which is fine and to be expected, it is just that I am not a fan of what I am seeing. Which seems to saturate the markets with anything that sticks. And with animation like this, it has the appearance of cheap quality at the cost of a fast turn around. Hopefully DC Nation is not railroaded, cause that makes me care a lot less if this particular product is crap. There is just too much quality around Korra... Adventure Time... Transformers Prime... Tron Legacy...
October 15, 2012 2:02 am Here here. I think that they are well taking care of the next generation of fans. A la Star Wars I, II, III . Heck, even Reboot was immensely popular in its day and I have cherished memories of Beast Wars. Especially in its 3rd season onwards. (Though I can not watch it now, seriously.. the animation does suck.)
September 20, 2012 10:00 am Did I miss a memo or did all the DC books get kicked up to 32 pages?
September 12, 2012 2:59 am You fired off some strong endorphins when you dropped Longbow Hunters in the mix. This was a time when i was most in love with comics in that way of your 1st love. Other loves are not less, just different. This comic was not my favourite, but man was it amazing and special. It was also the gateway drug for others like Sable, which led to Tye Badger, Nexus, Grimjack,Dreadstar, Coyote, Mage, E-Man (though that was most likely due to puberty), etc. Thanks.
September 1, 2012 11:55 am fair enough. I was liberal in my use of Titan, as I was coming from the craftsmanship standpoint. And honestly, I do not think Vaughan is truly a Titan. Like say Jim Lee or Grant Morrison. But to my eye, my appreciation for them is on that level. The scope, majesty, imagination, characters and beautiful humanity to their different voices, all had me at hello. and as BKV said, in Scalped, it was there from the beginning.and that 50th issue of Scalped? Pure gold. Wolverine and the X-Men? A must read.I am not an Xbook fan, but Remender and Mr Peter David are two others I would throw Titan status towards. And in Mr David's case, I would not even caveat it.
August 31, 2012 2:10 am I was in the same boat. Following the Scalped appreciation through the podcasts. I ran through all of them in the month (and change) prior to Scalped 60s release, as I wanted to purchase at least one issue when it released. My point is that it is all available online for a more than decent price (from $.99) http://www.comixology.com/Scalped-1/digital-comic/NOV060289 .
August 31, 2012 12:12 am I wrote a draft where I complained that no one commented on this post. Thanks CarlosFF (and F5).. This is poetry in print. Two titans of their craft, sitting down for a casual, honest chat and being as nice as we have known their personas to be. It is like a print WTF for comics... Sliced bread just moved to Number 2
August 29, 2012 1:53 pm look like Ken and I are in the same boat of regret, I pulled the same goof and got a flight from Las V at 3pm, so will miss some crucial stuff. A shame, but I will make up for it with partying too hard on the previous nights. I will be the cat with the shades indoors - recovering. very excited to see the guests, attend the panels and meet some of the ifanboy nation in person. It is like a comic industry Ted Talks with copious amounts of fun and music
August 25, 2012 1:06 am How is it NO ONE mentions the 'with porpoise" pun. COME ON! We got to call that out. I groaned, smiled and then got slightly disturbed by that cover again. I think it is the vague appearance of a smile on the dolphin and the awareness that whatever wholesome goodness that I am feeling - that the truth is much, much darker... and it taints every previous time that I have felt that feeling. Brilliant
August 24, 2012 1:04 am That Colder cover is like sticking my tongue on a 9volt battery. It shocks me, and I do it again...and again....and...
