LetLooseTheKraken

Name: Mitch O'Brien

Bio: It all started with Batman as a child. Now, I still love and collect him but the habit and itch has grown. So..I like comics. I read them. So here I am. Was mostly a TPB/Graphic Novel kinda guy but I recently took the chance to get onto new continuity with DC so I jumped on board of the new 52 and loving it.

March 31, 2012 2:08 pm They do actually do a podcast of the 5 of them sitting around and chatting about comics. It is called, funnily enough, Comic Book Men. It isn't the one from the show, but it is them talking about certain artists and arcs and what not with the five of them. So you may want to check on things before you comment saying such things do not exists.
February 9, 2012 12:14 pm Wear one superman earring backwards...BIZZARO.
February 6, 2012 8:24 am I mean like, how Nolan took villains and sort of cemented them in reality..like Bane for instance. They looked kind of like Skrulls that had the reality check of Nolans Bat films. So they won't be like the ones from the books, but more modernized Alien Skrulls. glwarm76, really? I did not hear that. What are the thoughts though?
February 6, 2012 6:46 am What do people think of Skrulls? Like they seem to be, from the split second we saw them, maybe modernized Skrulls. Nolan-ised if you will. Bought into the realm of reality a bit. Not green skinned goblin looking things, but more Alien like? Also, the last shot of them all in a circle..Hulk just appears over Hawkeyes shoulder.
February 3, 2012 1:20 pm 'But they’re going to make more books. They have that right. Morality and what’s right doesn’t come into it.' He kind of said that in the article..
February 3, 2012 12:59 pm Fact of the matter is this. Hate it or love it, you are talking about it. Spreading the word. Discussion, for the 2nd time in a year, DC Comics. Hell, even a 3rd time including the logo change. It's good business. Good marketing. Good money making. Which is what they need to do, like any business.
February 3, 2012 12:36 pm *Typical boneheaded, un-educated, fan boy response* Its happening. Get on board, or let it sail by. No one is putting a gun to your head and telling you buy and love these books. You hit the nail on the head, Josh. I can still watch Friday the 13th and enjoy it, and not think about the Michael Bay produced crap. As for the "Star Wars ruined prequels for me' debate I've heard so much about, that is bullshit. You can't really change a book that has been in print for how long now? It is not like Lucas is directing Before Watchmen, and he is going to make the Pregnant lady shoot the comedian first. I agree with this post. I believe in Josh Flanagan. Flanagan for D.A.
February 1, 2012 12:51 pm My girlfriend has been culturally influenced by me in the past 2.5 years. I got her to read the New 52 of Justice League. She mentioned she loved Wonder Womans naivatie and the banter, but loved the overall story of the team coming together. I got her to read Walking Dead as well, she is hooked on that and is slowly working her way through my hardcovers. She picked herself up Bayou, which both me and her enjoyed. And Elephantmen, which she loves but I have yet to flick through. She has her eyes on We3 next (Animal Activist at heart) My next book I'm putting her on is Sweet Tooth and possibly American Vampire. But I don't think I will see her reading, say, Batman RIP or Watchmen any time soon. I am actually proud of her for going towards alternate main stream books. Not just the female super heroes or whatever. I say Vertigo is the way to go for introducing your significant other to comics. It has the edge that Superhero books don't quite have. But another way to go is Indie books. One indie book that I will pick up that will cater to my girlfriends style is Rust. Good article.
