Legend's Recent Comments
September 2, 2013 3:20 am With all of the comments already, don't know how you'll ever get to this one, but I really have to say, from the bottom of heart, thank you all. The work that all of you put into this website/community undoubtedly inspired me to read more comics and delve deeper into the industry. But beyond that, everything about this place inspired me to find my own voice and my opinions. When I started really reading comics and coming to this site, I honestly had no one to share my experiences with, and this community filled that void for a very long time. I can confidently talk about this wonderful art form on a higher level, and you all are in no small part the reason for that. Everyone working here has also inspired me to work towards doing something I love for the rest of my life, and at the very least, I hope to continue talking and writing about comics for the long haul. Seriously everyone, thank you. Best of luck with what the rest of life has in store, and still looking forward to Sundays. Erin

August 15, 2013 3:42 am Don't want to judge this too hard on it's first issue. Knowing Hickman and events in general, this will probably read better once it's all collected. This felt just like more prelude to me, which I guess is an unnecessary evil in comics, but doesn't help when you're buying separate chapters that cost a lot. Anyway, Jim Cheung, Morales, Ponsor and the rest of the art team killed it with this book. Not one panel or page stood out, but they were all just nicely detailed and flowed very effortlessly. Super consistent throughout.
June 29, 2011 4:12 pm Beautiful.  After seeing this and Transformers 3, my patriotism is through the roof.
June 18, 2011 5:11 am Totally agree with the state this series is in.  There was so much excitement leading up to Blackest Night, and I was loving the additions of the new corps, but after Blackest Night lost focus on just the Green Lantern side of things and became a very heavily DCU-involved event, I started to lose that excitement.  I haven't read Green Lantern since the end of Blackest Night, and there seems to be too much going on for that to change.  I think out of all the reboot titles, Green Lantern is the one I want to pick up and read again the most, but I just hope there's a reason to.
June 18, 2011 5:02 am I think the first point you make about this film possibly being an anachronism is very insightful and accurate.  Not only was it a bit underwhelming technically/visually (constructs were cool), but just compared to the coherent, fun, and substantial stories we've seen told in recent superhero movies, this one tastes very bland.  Personally, I enjoyed watching it, especially for the actors, but I can't say this was more than mediocre.  I think the fun I had watching was very superficial and in-the-moment based.  Several years ago, as one of the first superhero flicks, this would have been more excusable, but not in an age that has already seen the likes of The Dark Knight and Iron Man, the latter of which is probably what they should have emulated.

I also feel like this film could have benefitted from being even at least 15 minutes longer, which would put it near the length of Iron Man.  There were many holes in this arc that needed to be filled somehow, so I wonder why those voids were either deemed negligible or just given less priority to creating a shorter film.
June 15, 2011 2:30 pm Great review.  Just reading some of your synopsis brings back good memories and feelings of reading the first Invincible stories.  And why did I stop buying this in issues...worst trade-waiting decision ever.  I haven't even gotten the latest trade yet.

February 14, 2011 10:47 pm This is by far the greatest thing I've read in weeks.
February 4, 2011 9:04 pm I enjoyed this.  Pretty much Smallville Inception, but more than anything, I'm just happy Chloe is back.  Heartwarming ending too.  And again with the teasing of Clark flying!  Love how the writers are so blatant about it.
