Also of note is that pixel artist Paul Robertson is handling art duties on the game. For a great example of Paul's work I highly recommend watching Pirate Baby's Cabana Battle Street Fight: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T5zpNfTfGZU
The last good movie-comic-tie-in games, to me, were Spider-Man 2 and X-Men Origins: Wolverine. The swing mechanics were so solid in Spidey 2, I still pop it in every now and again just to swan dive off the Empire State building and swing around for awhile.
I've heard some folks say stuff along the lines of "Kick-Ass will ruin all future 'low-budget' comic movies." Kick-Ass is already well on track to recoup its costs in the box office, and I imagine it'll have a Serenity-style effect where the DVD/BluRay sales will be pretty good as well. Not a runaway hit, but not a failure either. Scott Pilgrim's box office performance will be more interesting, methinks.
If we ever got another Punisher film, I'd love to see Troy Duffy (Boondock Saints) or Robert Rodriguez direct it. This time, there would be no crying.
@CaseyJustice @muddi900 Grim Fandango is easily my favorite of the LucasArts adventure era. The writing, puzzles, and presentation were all top-notch. Tim Schafer is easily the funniest guy in games, and my main inspiration for wanting to get into the business.
@LukeB @Haupt I thought about the Zombie universe being a possibility too, but Peter isn't much of a good guy in that series. Plus, could Activision do the Zombie universe and still release the game with a T-Rating?
Ultimate is another viable possibility, but as others have mentioned, Ultimate wouldn't be too visual different from Amazing.
I'd like a Ditko-style 60s Spider-Man themed world, too!

Spidey, Power Girl, Crossed, and The Guild will be at the top of my stack this week.
BQ: Recent: Watchmen. 25+ years old: Videodrome.

@VampJoe Maybe not 1602, but the last Spider-Man in that line-up looks like 2099! Check the details on the forearms.
@DDevil1964 Spider-Man 2 is easily my favorite Spidey game. The swing controls were near perfect, which no Spider-Man game to date has recreated.
Thanks for the warm welcome gang!
