August 23, 2010 6:20 pm I was not impresed at all with the artwork of Mr. Scalf from the Purge One Shot he did a while back; I hope it is a little better in this series. I love that cover.
August 16, 2010 5:35 pm As sad as I was to see this title end I am excited for the follow up series announced last week.

Two things:

First - I love this cover.

Second - I am pretty sure this is a reprint of previously available online comics (similar to Dark Times: Blue Harvest #0 and Invasion #0) that I was not impressed with when I read it online. I only read the first part, maybe this will read better in print...

May 20, 2010 1:11 pm I have loved reading these on his Twitter feed; good stuff!

Unfortunately, this was revealed very haphazardly in the latest solicitations. I love this series and am sad to see it go.

May 11, 2010 10:30 am Finally! I got onto this series late, after they moved the publication from Red Eagle to Dabel Bros. last year. Now they finish with Dynamite. I still have not found a copy of issue #3 for a reasonable price...
May 5, 2010 3:22 pm I read the Annotated NW Passage out of the Library last year and I agree that it was really great. I have seen the Crogan books before but never tried them out. Looks like it's time to remedy that.
April 26, 2010 10:59 pm It is definitely ending at 50, just like Knights of the Old Republic did. The Dark Horse Star Wars editor says that something is coming along to replace it in the future but nothing has been announced yet.

Here is a quote from Doug Wheatley from TheForce.net boards about the delays this series has faced. To me, this is the textbook example of loving the art (I think it is the best currently on the Dark Horse Star Wars books) v. suffering through serious delays. Doug says it should be back on track for the next arc. We'll see...

Hey guy’s

Sorry for the long note, bad grammar, etc. I’m not a writer.

First off, I am totally responsible for the delays on this book, if you haven’t guessed that already. I assure you, these delays are not cause by any lack of attention, like playing video games, watching movies, or any of the usual suspects. I’m not ill, or handicapped physically in anyway. The challenges I face day to day are complicated, but not insurmountable and I am eternally grateful to Randy, Freddye, Dave, and Mike Richardson not to mention Mick Harrison for allowing me the opportunity to work through this difficulty, it means more to me than words can express, and I take this act of kindness and patients very seriously.

Those of you who have followed my work on Star Wars from the beginning know that these deadline issues have been with me for awhile. I think it is safe to say that there is a little if not a lot of skepticism out there regarding wether I will succeed and get this book back on track or not. Understandably, I’ve had a few false starts.

This note to you is not one of promises or excuses for my past or future performance on this book, but an answer to your questions. You deserve to know where things are at and so, here it is,

There are more Dark Times ahead Smile Mick has plotted out several arcs and I can tell you without bias that I am truly blown away and inspired. You have no idea how incredibly cool the plot lines are for these stories. If you like this arc so far, we are just getting started. I can’t wait for you to read it, truly.

I want to let you know that you are being heard and taken seriously, and that it is our primary goal to return Dark Times to a reliable schedule. The next arc will suffer none of the delays previously endured on this book. That’s not a promise, but a fact. Randy has set a plan in motion that deals with this issue effectively. As of the next arc, Dark Times will be on schedule.

I will be continuing onto the next arc...

I love this book, it’s what keeps me at my desk up to 15 hrs a day, minimum 6 days a week.

I’d like to thank all of you who are being super patient with the delays on Dark Times, and I’d like let those of you who are tired of the delays and frustrated with the situation know that I understand, and sincerely apologize.

Change is on the horizon. Fact.

So, for those of you who want me fired so you can get your books on time, I ask you to hang in there a little longer, two more issues to be exact. Maybe we can both have our way, You’ll get your books on time, and I will have done my best work to date.

Thanks for your time, and understanding.

Doug.
