September 4, 2013 12:54 pm I discovered your site/podcasts through itunes in '05-06. With your help and guidance I rediscovered all that I loved about comics. You guys turned me on to; Wheddon's Astonishing X-men, Y the last man,Preacher, Garth Ennis' battlefield, ALL things by Brubaker, John's JSA run, Morrison's works (WE3 especially)the list just goes on and on. Ron, Josh, Conor and Paul just increased my appetite for comics and opened my reading horizon's (I would've NEVER read Essex County and Underwater wielder without your reccomendations!!) A heartfelt THANK YOU to everyone for all the great content, debates,Sketchups, panels of the week etc.Your hard work paid off in spades as you held court and created a vast community that celebrates comics. Ultimatehoratio,Greenmonster and especially TheNextChampion;I will miss your insights, reviews, comments and mostly, brotherly comraderie here. You guys had me glued to hot topics, debates & reccomendations all through your comments Until Sunday then

August 4, 2013 10:46 am Fearless Defenders is my favorite cover. Should I be reading this ? Something about a girl in overalls, always cute
August 2, 2013 10:28 pm Astonishing X-men (Whedon and Cassaday's run) was a great story with Kitty &Colossus (my fav X-man). Try the first 2 trades(her shinning moment being in the last TPB, a great payoff!!)
August 2, 2013 10:18 pm I give this a 4/5. I haven't read the Flashpoint event, but the film presented a solid elseworlds tale for me. Voice acting was a B. Liked seeing characters like Deathstroke, the Rogues, Cyborg get some screen time. Animation was solid, only characters were depicted as overly muscular( Aquaman's upper torso was just ridiculous). Finally, the violence was a bit too much. I think it could have been handled better. We don't need to see a kid die, blood streaming from his mouth. It would have worked off camera with just as well (indicated by some creative use of sound effects). Dismemberment, death, mayhem, a headshot. I get it, the future is bleak unless a hero steps up. The finale with Bruce/Flash in the Batcave was a nice moment as was the closing credits scene with the Flash.

July 27, 2013 11:16 pm The fondness you describe those trips to your LCS is the same reason I make it a habit to take my daughter on our special trips. Whether going to midtown comics (here in NYC) to check out some Archies or discount bookstores for her favorite manga I make it a point to go every once in a while in search of comics/books with her. Sure we can just download it on her kindle, but I make it a point to have our special time, building memories, a joy of reading and oh yeah, some cool stuff for dad.
