May 22, 2012 1:25 pm I'm going to be the lone voice of dissent, I thought the issues of this that I read were both too dense to take in the info, and too scattershot to really give a detailed look at a specific period of history. On the other hand, it is great value for money since it will take forever to read!

March 8, 2012 2:57 pm Read this and really dug it. I think Pichelli is hands down my favourite artist right now, she is just so damn good. The body language and acting that her characters convey is just brilliant, and she has this unique style that is both 'cartoony' and almost photo real. And I think she draws the best black people I've ever seen in a comic book. It's all in the eyes, a few of her black characters (like Uncle Aaron) have these really expressive almond eyes. It's so subtle and yet it gives such humanity to them. Brilliant stuff.

January 9, 2012 2:30 pm What a fucking prick. Of all the things to be offended by, something natural like breastfeeding should not be one of them. There is nothing shameful about it whatsoever, and children should certainly be able to be exposed to it without any kind of taboo attached. Boobies /= bad. What an idiot.

December 27, 2011 7:55 am American vampire 2, Tokyo Days Bangkok Nights (yay Seth Fisher!), Chew 4, Locke and Key 1 and Scalped 1. Also picked up Ruckas Stumptown for 4 bucks on Comixology. When I looked at all the books I got, one thing struck me - no superheroes! I guess at 28 I'm starting to grow up.

December 15, 2011 1:05 pm Just another Joker story? Oh wow, buy it man, you'll be in for a treat if that's what you were expecting. The end of B&R is stunning. Shame this doesn't have Return of Bruce Wayne in it too, that's half the story, especially in Andy Clarke's arc.

November 18, 2011 7:34 pm seconded. i just read all three issues (yay digital impulse buys!) and I'm blown away by how good this book is. it has no right to be this awesome. The furore over #1 kept me away but it's really a top tier book and has a really unique tone. Amazing stuff
