March 19, 2013 8:45 pm I don't know if his style is quite right for everything. It seems a bit too loose for superheroes, but those latter sketches are incredible. If he were to team up with DeConnick on one of her Image projects, it might even steal some fans from Saga.
March 18, 2013 4:56 pm For as controversial as "The Kirkman Manifesto" was, he did make one undeniable point: Marvel and DC are a great place to thrive, but creator-owned is what you retire on. Some people are lucky enough to make it (DC is being very kind to Scott Lobdell, and Marvel has a lot of "old school" artist like JRJR and Alan Davis on high profile books), but for the vast majority, if you want secure yourself, find a good idea and see if you can sell it. McFarlane, Kirkman, Vaughan, Ennis, and Layman have pretty good contingencies for when their style has fallen out of the fad (in the case of McFarlane it's already happened, and he's a millionaire). On the other side, you can have someone like Bendis who is prospering at Marvel, but has a ton of creator-owned stuff on the side to live off of later in life.
March 17, 2013 12:17 am Excellent finish. Shame to see it go so soon and with so much left to explore. But we can hope my friends. No matter what the networks do, we'll always have hope (and maybe even a blue ring to go with it).
March 16, 2013 10:26 pm I was actually positive that Barry would die and Wally would be forced to become the Flash... nice job throwing me for a loop.
March 11, 2013 7:38 pm Of course, we hate Scott Snyder now! Death of the Family was like the worst thing ever written because we didn't get our wish of seeing a fan favorite character get mutilated or killed! And the worst part was the way Snyder wrote Joker: no subtlety! He kept on rambling and speechifying and shouting his absurd nonsensical philosophies. If there's one character who is always completely subtle and whose beliefs make perfect sense, it's the Joker!
February 16, 2013 7:06 pm Saw it. Great to see this series rip out all the stops for an excellent end run, even if the love debate sections were a little stilted and awkward. Btw, I think Grey DeLisle is reusing an old voice; Dark Aya sounds just like Azula put through a vocoder.
February 16, 2013 1:04 am I haven't seen this episode yet, but now I'm praying that Dark Aya's Manhunters have an oath that goes something like, "We are strong/No one can tell us we're wrong/etc..."

January 27, 2013 11:26 am The most frustrating thing about YJ is its pacing. Some weeks its relentless in how fast the plot moves and the next week it barely progresses at all. This week was definitely the former. It was great watching everything unfold and all the plot points pay off, but Nightwing's revelation should have been WAY bigger.
January 27, 2013 11:22 am Yeah, probably why they take so many breaks.
