May 29, 2013 10:43 pm Nice set up, love going deep into the ocean. And, I'm a sucker for well written female scientists. Next issue, please!
May 29, 2013 4:18 pm Can NOT wait to pick this up this evening!
May 23, 2013 2:59 am Love, love, love watching Poison Ivy, Catwoman, and Harley running around having fun capers.
March 20, 2013 10:37 pm I've loved Wonder Woman, since I was three years old. Watched the 1970s tv show obsessively as a kid. Rucka and Simone brought me into reading WW in comics, with utter delight. And while I love Chiang's designs and art, I can't stomach Azzarello writing my favorite superhero anymore. He's destroyed and gotten rid of the Amazons, including her Mom. No Etta Candy either. All the time, some male character is giving WW a weapon, teaching her how to fight (apparently the Amazons didn't do it that well), and after the first few issues, the men get to do more rescuing and plotting than she does. She's back story to her own story. And why did he make Orion such a jerk? I'm tempted to literally tear up the most recent issue.
March 20, 2013 10:24 pm Gail Simone's run on WW has been by absolute favorite, and at least she was getting WW back into the dating scene (between all the fights and stuff). Plus, Greg Rucka's run thrilled me too. Brian Azzarello's run infuriates me the longer it goes on. He kicked the Amazons and her Mom out. Almost no strong female characters other than WW, etc. As to Morrison's potential run...I like that he's doing research, but then again, he may be over-thinking and over-reaching, instead of just trying to help us to get to know the character more fully. We'll see.
March 14, 2013 2:37 pm Almost cried at the comic book shop, after reading this.
February 13, 2013 3:28 pm I thought the way they introduced Jame's inner dialogue wasn't great--came off stilted, forced and unclear rather than mysterious. And, if you don't do someone's inner dialogue well--then who can get into the character much? I gave this issue my lowest Batgirl 52 score so far. The plot worked for me, but....I don't want James to take over Batgirl's title. He's a villain, a psycho yes, however I don't want him to feel stronger than Batgirl, like he pulls the strings more than she does, especially when she's trying to hero. James can be pretty intense, but his intensity has worked better in other stories, where he's more behind the scenes--where his potential of threat feels the nastiest. The assumption is he's a born serial killer, but to have him more out in the open etc, doesn't work as well in my opinion. Looking forward to having Gail Simone back on the issues.
February 13, 2013 3:21 pm Maybe, just maybe, Joker saw Bruce Wayne as a cheat on his and Batman's relationship? A cheating that he couldn't handle, so he choose to ignore it to keep the special relationship going? I do think a real Joker would cut the faces, but DC isn't going to let that many characters' pretty faces get maimed. Thus, Suicide Squad *SPOILER*: They kept Harley's face intact too. Because DC doesn't want their characters-merch ruined.
February 13, 2013 3:16 pm I enjoyed this issue a lot, but it's one of those issues that I feel I need to read twice to have it all really sink in. I enjoyed charcters' reactions towards the end--felt truthful.
December 12, 2012 8:21 pm The last third of this issue really pulled me in. Made my imagination go off--always a great thing for a story to do.
