November 19, 2012 9:58 pm I stopped buying comics back in 2007 for price and storage reasons. I still love comics but now get them from my local library. With the ability to get comics from any library in the county and even the state, it is easy to follow story lines, even though it keeps me about 6 months behind in most cases. If I went back it would be for digital, but $2.99 is a hard pill to swallow.
July 16, 2012 10:55 pm I wonder if this movie is just suffering from coming out after a bad movie. Batman Begins did not do well, but I think we would agree it was at least a very good movie. Were people so turned off by Spider-Man 3 that they stayed away? Most non-comic people I have spoken to have loved this movie as did I. I think many comic fans brought preconceived ideas into this movie. I agree that it was too early for a reboot, but it was done very well. Let's try to go into these films with an open mind.
July 3, 2012 11:28 pm A lot of practical effects as well that really added to the movie.
July 3, 2012 11:03 pm When I heard that Marc Webb got the nod to direct Spider-Man, I thought that a "500 Days of Summer" version of Spider-Man might be my favorite superhero movie ever. That's what I got and I loved it. Though its not perfect, it is is centered on a relationship between Peter and Gwen that was believable and one I cared about. Though there were parts that did not work completely (the later C. Thomas Howell sequence), this was a great movie. Can't wait to see it again.
July 18, 2011 8:43 pm I would recommend them, they are pretty good.  I think the final one is coming out in October.  They are pretty bleak.  The vampires are basically the one's Del Toro designed for Blade 2.
June 6, 2011 9:30 pm @SpiderTitan I just think you're going overboard on Bacon's performance.  I did like what he did in the WWII scenes and thought I was in for something special, but it didn't carry through for me.  I think we (and everyone) may need a little distance from this movie to evaluate it properly.  With this many people liking it, I feel like I will have to give it a second viewing on DVD.  But, for now it just didn't work.

@Josh  I like fun!  I liked Kung Fu Panda 2!
June 5, 2011 4:49 pm Just listened to the podcast as well and it's official - I saw a different movie!  On to Green Lantern!
June 5, 2011 3:34 pm @SpiderTitan  I did not like this movie, but obviously many people did.  I do feel you are going a bit overboard with Kevin Bacon's performance in comparing him to Heath Ledger in the Dark Knight.  Bacon was okay in the role at best.  He wasn't even the best performance in the movie.  Just relax a bit on the Oscar talk.

June 5, 2011 10:42 am @Invasionforce Superman: The Movie, Superman 2, Batman Begins, The Dark Knight, X-Men, X-Men 2, Spider-Man, Spider-Man 2, Hulk, The Incredible Hulk, Thor, Kick-Ass, Batman, Batman Returns, 300, Blade, Blade 2, The Crow, Constantine, Iron Man, and V for Vendetta are all arguably better movies based on comics.
