February 15, 2013 11:29 am Producing an image like that on the cover would be like, my life's work.
February 15, 2013 10:27 am Gotta say, a more tasteful Supergirl is definitely welcome.
January 31, 2013 9:17 am If you were to remove flying apes, DC's Silver Age would only be about 7 pages long.
January 24, 2013 2:37 pm eh...I'm not a big fan of the Pride and Prejudice comic. It should have worked, but the interior art just turned me off. Part of the problem was the coloring. All the girls looked way too painted up. The other problem is that the cover art is basically perfect, so when you open the book and it's a lot less than perfect, well, it's at least disappointing.
January 17, 2013 12:42 pm The old Marvel comics are thrilling. Equal parts great and terrible, with a majority of the stories being so-so, this series is still riveting. I think it's because it's so rickety. The creators of the comics didn't know how the story might wrap up, so they just wrote big space-fantasy stories, hoping they might align, at least a little, with what Mr Lucas was going to do in his next movie. And the excitement comes from that - not knowing what's next. This whole story might just fall apart at any moment. Nowadays, the conclusion to the Star Wars saga has been wrapped up for 30 years. There aren't many surprises left. There are stories left to tell, I'm sure. But no surprises. And that suspension between chapters is something Star Wars fans have not felt for a long time. The only place I've found that still generates that kind of thrill of not knowing what's next (in Star Wars) is in the old comics that Marvel put out.

January 11, 2013 9:19 am That Turtle cover is radical! In this day and age who could ask for more?
