May 15, 2012 8:55 am Danger Club may be the best of the new Image books (including Saga). The first issue was an amazing surprise with beautiful art and a great story. I particularly appreciated the nod to the Dark Knight Returns.
May 6, 2012 5:55 pm I respectfully disagree with the reviewers conclusion that there are approximately 10 pages which were unnecessary. In reality, these pages, the pop cultrure references and other items mentioned by the above reviewer are key to the plot development and to the mystery. I would encourage collectors to pick up a couple copies of this book one to read and one of each cover to save. This book is a keeper. This series is going places. Don't be surprised if it gets a TV deal in the next few months. My understanding is that the writer and his agent have been taking meetings and may have already started working on a deal. More importantly, this book is a great read, it is enjoyable, fun and beautiful. This book is right up there with Saga, Fatale and the best of the new books that are being published by Image. I am confortable saying that in about 5 years we will talk about this book the same way we talk about Chew and the Walking Dead. It's going to be big! The only bad things is that it is very, very difficult to find copies of this title on the East Coast that don't have defects that will prevent you from securing a CGC 9.8.
May 3, 2012 1:11 am I was very impressed with the writing on this book. Obviously the art is beautiful, but I enjoyed the storyline as much and infact more than the very impressive line work and coloring. The mystery is as good, if not better, than series like Fatale and the Long Halloween. If you are a fan of Lost, Alcatraz, Fringe, Twin Peeks, the Usual Suspects and the Inside Job then this is a book you should pick up. This is also a book that has strong female characters who are smart, sexy and hip. I imagine that it is a series that us fanboys can use to transition our significant others into fangirls. The women aren't going to end up in the fridge although the female lead is in a hospital bed as you can see on Cover B. This book is a good investment for you speculators out there. The website Bleedingcool.com has already reported that the writer of this book is working on securing a TV deal. If the numbers that Thief of Thieves have brought in are any indication of what this title may do if and/or when it secures a TV deal then we are in for a heck of a ride. The other thing this issue has going for it from a collector's point of view is that many of the books delivered to the East Coast were mangled, had minor spine ticks or wheren't delievered at all. I will often pick up a few dozen copies of a book that I believe has potential to grow into a monster book in the future. I picked up a dozen copies of cover A but only one copy didn't have visable damage. My Local Comic Shop received zero copies of cover B. I'm not certain what will happen with the cover B books I ordered. In fact I may not receive a single copy. I don't think I will be able to find a lot of these books for a reasonable price. The book is already selling at a premium on eBay and sold out at stores like mycomicshop.com. If you are interested in a bookj with beautiful art, captivating writing and real potential for substantial pecuniary growth in the secondary market - Mind the Gap is an easy choice. It was 100% better than Epic Kill and substantially better than X-O Manowar. It is easily the best new title that was released this month and I hope that you all take the oppotunity to pick this book up at your Local Comic Shop and/or online before it is unavailable at cover price. If this book gets better than it is it will be one of the best books on the market. It is already one of the best new books on the market and is on par with the best new titles released in the last calendar year (e.g., Saga, Manhattan Projects, Theif of Theives, Luther Strode, Danger Club, Secret, America's Got Powers and Fatale).
May 2, 2012 1:42 pm My condolences to the family of the departed. For those of you who are interested. The comics which did ship on the above list are in terrible condition on the East Coast. Some are bent, nearly all have spine creases and color breaking defects.
April 30, 2012 10:49 pm Thank you for your work. The ashcan was great. It was put together with pride on quality material. The story was cool and the art was beautiful. I and thousands of others can't wait to read the first issue. Some of us have anticipate that you are going to close a deal for a TV series in the next few months and wish you all the best. Would you please email me with information about purchasing original art? My email address is gsidirop@gmail.com. Your anticipated cooperation in that regard is appreciated. George
April 21, 2012 7:50 pm Continue to buy key issues in paper format for there collectible value. The great thing about paper comics is that they can be easily shared with others and sold in the future at an appreciated rate. Please don't be part of the digital trend that has closed many a newspaper - buy comics in paper format. GS
April 13, 2012 9:00 pm Please read this book and tell me if you think that you and the reviewer above read the same title. This book starts with a bang and keeps banging until the last page. The only thing that I wanted when it was done was more. If the rest of the series is as good as the first issue, this book is a sleeping giant.
April 13, 2012 5:32 pm There's a reason this book is selling as many copies as the Walking Dead the last two months. It took the Walkind Dead nearly a decade and a hit cable television show before it sold 30K copies each month. I can't say enough good things about this series! If I could only get my hands on a copy of the Diamond RRP Variant cover of Saga 1 (limited to 500 copies). Vaughan and Staples are quickly fighting their way to the head of a crowd of Image titles that are easily the best new books on the market.
April 5, 2012 1:18 am Please ignore my numerical grades above. They were the product of error and I am not aware of how I can edit them. If you know how I can do that, please leave a comment that will explain how to do so. Thank you in advance for your assistance.
March 22, 2012 1:30 am Please ignore the numerical grades above. I am new to this site and failed to grade the comic in this particular review. I attempted to erase this review by making a subsequent review with a numerical grade, but was not able to delete this review. I am sorry for any confusion.
