Jim's utter horror and repulsion of having a son like James, And the guilt he feels from feeling like that. And he wants to trust him, but there is always the suspicion. Barbara is more straight forward. she just knows he's a nutter.

February 5, 2013 8:36 am Actually, the more I think about it. back in the day, I really did not care who the writer or artist was on a book. I was someone who bought for titles, Batman, X-men. Spiderman. the only people I did sort of follow were Grant Morrison and Mark Miller. And it wasn't due to the content so much, it was really just cos there from Glasgow, same as me. it wasn't until finding some videos on you tube. Where three Dudes sat around a coffee table and were really interesting and entertaining about comics, that I started to pay attention to who's name was on the cover of the book I picked up. So thank you, Conor, Ron and Josh. you assimilated me, resistance was indeed futile. I guess what I'm saying is bring back the video shows.

February 4, 2013 2:55 pm is it cool if I sit on the fence with this one. I'm a 50 / 50 comic reader I'll be getting Batman even after Scott Snyder is done. But I'll be sure to follow him and Greg Capullo where ever they go next.

September 11, 2012 7:01 am I had a strange experience yesterday. I work in IT so there are a lot of "geeks" around my office. So walking about I over heard the young work experience kid, who is a nice guy. And does claim to love Batman SO MUCH. Anyway. He was telling the guy beside him about this movie that was coming out, where Batman is old, and has to come back from retirement. And why this was the worst idea for a story ever. yeah I had to do a double take on that as well. I asked him if he was talking about The Dark Knight Returns. Of course he was. And when I asked if he had read the comics, he had to say no. At that point I left him to it and went back to my desk. And that is the problem, The people that are Comic "geeks" that don't actually read comics. there will also be people with strong opinions that only know half the subject. lets face it genuine comic readers love discussing comics and trying to get people to read them. thats why we come here after all.
