June 4, 2012 11:52 am And I see you've only been reading comics since Flashpoint. Now I'm not saying your opinion doesn't have merit, because it certainly does, but how can you possibly categorize everyone not onboard with this new origin story as 'too dumb to understand the new 52's concept' when you weren't around for the telling of the original origin of Mr. Freeze?
June 4, 2012 11:43 am So according to you if a person dislikes the new origin of Mr. Freeze, they just "don't get the whole new 52 concept"? So anyone who doesn't like Snyder's new Freeze origin is just stupid and doesn't understand simple things, huh? That's pretty ridiculous, shortsighted and totally offensive. I don't like the new Mr. Freeze origin because I find it to be 100 times inferior to the old origin, not because I "don't get the concept" of the new 52. We're not stupid people who don't understand simple concepts, consafo80, we're people who like good stories that are as good or better than the ones told before.
June 1, 2012 10:27 am I was really disappointed in this retcon of Mr. Freeze. Taking from him the very relatable and tragic love story that was his motivation, and turning him into just another psycho, with a cold gun. Is this the end of Snyder's fantastic storytelling on Batman? I hope not - but this retcon, dumping one of the best villain origins in Batman's rogues gallery, makes me wonder.
May 1, 2012 3:28 pm I hope Valiant does well with this relaunch, but I remember not liking Valiant at all back in the 90s so I think I'll hold off on picking this up until I see some reviews. I'll buy the one Swierczynski's writing, though.
May 1, 2012 3:24 pm Sweet Tooth is the comic I would choose if I only had the budget to buy one comic a month.
May 1, 2012 3:23 pm I heard someone died in the wreck that delayed this coming out. That's creepy to think of.
April 12, 2012 7:15 pm James Jr's back!
March 15, 2012 8:35 am Did anyone else notice how the female penciller Alitha Martinez didn't get credit on the cover? Considering Gail Simone's (rightful) stance about female creators I have to wonder what DC was thinking by slighting the other female creator on Gail's book. DC will likely say she only did 8 pages of the pencils so she doesn't deserve her name on the cover, but I wholly disagree.
March 14, 2012 5:39 pm The cover seems to be referencing something very specific - I mean, the guy in the back of the car is blowing stuff up with the detonator in his hand. Pretty specific. I wonder if the cover was done long ago for a now-discarded storyline and Marvel is reusing it since they already paid for the art?
March 14, 2012 5:36 pm I nominate this for whatever award they give to the best example of a comic that's cover doesn't match anything happening inside. But, great series. Rucka's Punisher is my favorite so far.
