April 24, 2012 5:30 pm That one blew me away.
April 24, 2012 5:29 pm "-tell us what you see in those lines and what you’d like to see him draw." Well, judging from the vast array of samples here, there's not much he coudln't draw. The guy is incredible. That pin-up racecar is very Frank Quitely. I'd love to see that style in a reboot of Hard Boiled. He should definitely fill in for Joe Mad on Avenging Spidey. You know what? I like this dude.
March 21, 2012 4:46 pm The use of Gibbons' writings of the dissolution of Rome was quite simply a brilliant allegorical choice. Bravo, Paul.
March 15, 2012 11:56 am In the same vein as the Batman & Robin recommendation, The Black Mirror would also be a great addition to this already great list. Easily my favorite incarnation of Dick Grayson under the cowl. And the only graphic novel I've gone out at midnight to pick up.
February 13, 2012 11:55 am I was thinking more along the lines of Michael Fassbender or Guy Pearce as Cassidy. But Walton Goggins is absolutely perfect as Custer. Especially if you're an avid Justified fan like myself.
December 2, 2011 10:05 am That Catwoman sketch...I could've sworn I was wearing pants when I started reading this...
December 2, 2011 12:35 am I Iove that one of the tags for this article is "opium slaves."
November 26, 2011 8:37 pm J.H. Williams blows my mind with every Batwoman issue. There was a panel in issue #2 where Detective Sawyer shows the progression of a fight between the gangsters and the mutant-things that absolutely FLOORED me. I was thinking about that panel for days after that, and I spent a solid 15 minutes in those two pages alone.
October 28, 2011 11:33 pm In the next two years I'll be a high school English teacher after I get my bachelor's degree. When I start teaching, I'm going to read this to every student I have to show them that anything is achievable. Thank you so much for sharing this. It's certainly changed my outlook on life, and comics as well.
