November 11, 2011 7:58 pm I strongly agree, except for the part about the show being a joke. I've liked it since I first saw it.
November 11, 2011 7:20 pm I, for one, am glad it's not another origin story.
October 31, 2011 12:35 pm I actually like this show better than the Avengers cartoon. I like the art style and darker colors. Avengers is too bright and the male characters are too bulky. I also really like the story and the characterization. I do wish that Robin was Tim instead of Dick; there've been a lot of Dick Grayson representations in cartoons, but only one Tim Drake. As a comics fan, it seems odd to me to have Dick Grayson as Robin when Conner Kent and Miss Martian are around. Before anyone hates me, I do like the Avengers show, just not as much as this one.
October 31, 2011 12:27 pm Among other reasons, I don't think Barbara should be Batgirl for the same reason that Conor is fine with it: She was Batgirl when I was growing up. Now that I'm older, she should be older and have moved on. No more "girl," she's a woman.
August 23, 2011 5:22 pm I've been using the library as my source for comics for years now. They're not always the best at getting every part of a series, and they don't keep up-to-date on everything, but they still have a ton of stuff. What's more fun is that I was out of the country for a year, so when I got back this summer, they'd gotten even more. I especially like having the option to use inter-library loan to get books that are out of the system. I'm catching up on INVINCIBLE that way since our library only has volumes 1 and 14 of the regular-sized collections. Oh, and our library has KICK-ASS. In the Young Adult section. Actually, right now, it's in the New Graphic Novels section, which is kind of hidden behind the Paperback Fiction section, so most kids are safe...for now.
August 19, 2011 6:27 pm Nic Cage is one of my favorite actors, especially when he overacts. I'll watch this for cheap sometime later just for that. The Ghost Rider movie franchise seems kind of like a throw-away to me anyway. I heard Cage really wanted to play a comics character, and he seems to enjoy this role, so more power to him, but I can't see these films as becoming classic comics-based cinema.
August 19, 2011 5:02 pm I don't read X-Men much, but Jubilee as a vampire makes me want to follow what she's in.
August 1, 2011 5:23 pm I used to be a big Wolfsbane fan, but her character has gone downhill since she slept with Rictor.  I'm kind of hoping she dies and gets brought back as her old self later or something.

If she has the baby, how long until they accelerate his/her age so they can make him/her a super hero/villain?
May 10, 2010 10:25 pm I'm fine with Zola just being a scientist-looking dude.  Hugo Weaving ought to be too busy hamming it up as Red Skull for me to notice one way or the other.

I only get one book, and it doesn't come out this week.

My biggest disappointment is a tie between Daredevil and X2.  I've heard good things aout the director's cut of Daredevil, but unless they got a better actress to play Elektra and portrayed Bullseye properly, I doubt it was that big of an improvement.  X2 was praised by most of my friends, but I didn't like it very much.

My most pleasant surprise was probably Superman Returns.  I had low hopes when I heard about the plot, but I thought it was pretty good when I finally saw it.
