March 18, 2010 7:19 pm I'll give it 1 issue, but I'm not expecting much from Winnick. Basri just became one to watch on my radar though (don't get me wrong, I WANT to like everything, I just dont)
March 18, 2010 4:55 pm did etrigan's rhymes begin w/alan moore (or gaiman?) or where they there from the start (doesn't seem like a very kirby-kind of thing)
March 18, 2010 4:16 pm "take a look" - doh
March 18, 2010 4:16 pm take a lot at that aq-army and tell me "talking to fish" is a stupid power
March 18, 2010 4:13 pm What's great is how pissed it makes batman. I think she's doing to get him riled AND it works (it's kind of a "wah-wah" ending).
March 18, 2010 4:04 pm So I'll be "that guy" - what a line-up... until Lee Garbett? wow, they couldn't get just one more Morrison good guy in there? (sure I'd appreciate Quitely, Bond, William (JH), or Clarke, but I'd take Williams (Freddie). IMO Garbett's got a ways to go. BUT I'm buyin' em all.
March 15, 2010 2:22 pm whither goest amanda goest i; she's soo good; interested to see who they get to replace the team on pg; I expect it's going to be just business-as-usual talent (e.g.: ramon bachs and matthew sturges) -- but please DC, prove me wrong

I love this stack feature. it makes me feel less alone as I stare at all my unread books. I fantasize about how awesome it's going to be when I retire, my kid heads off to college and my wife has better things to do and I can just read and read and read. Maybe in 20 years I'll finally find out how Norman Osborne became such a big cheese after secret invasion : )

I also have the wed comics stack (I haven't even read more than the batman and hawkman of the 1st 2 issues) and what's worse: I'm planning to buy the "trade" in a couple months. I don't usually buy trades when I have the floppies, but in this case I don't even like to open the issues; it's impossible to close them up right.

what is this thing you call "prose"?

Seriously, though - if there's one thing I like reading as much as comics it's ABOUT comics. I ipodded 10c plague, too. Very good insight into the golden age creators, and how popular comics were and how much they could piss people off. I found it actually hard to listen to since I'd get worked up everytime the "haters" were covered -- just SO intolerant (not that the comics some of them aimed at weren't objectionable, but still, burning books just never goes down right).

Want to check out Tales to Astonish, but haven't yet. A GREAT book is Gerard Jones' Men of Tomorrow, about Superman creators and early comicbook days -- probably the best thing like that I've read

February 23, 2010 2:32 am That's a big stack, but nothing to mine: I buy like $100 of books (floppies & trades) A WEEK! and I read maybe, maybe 3 or 4 floppies a week (or the equivalent). Let me put it this way: How does Secret Invasion turn out? what's all this about alpha lanterns?
