May 30, 2011 6:07 pm @JohnVFerrigno  Super excited right here! I've been praying C & D get a decent shot at more issues since way back from their Runaways appearance. They didn't fit with the X-Men (Dark or otherwise) at all and Nick Spencer's enthusiasm's about the mini is hugely contaigeous.
May 30, 2011 6:00 pm If I was giving the ultimatium of reading only one comic 'verse it would be an easy choice. Hellboy/B.P.R.D/Witchfinder/Lobster Johnson, hell just call it the Mignolaverse would win in a heartbeat. This coming from a guy that loves his superheroes. There is just nothing this engaging (except for some Vertigo) out there.
May 26, 2011 11:49 pm The comic least in need of a spotlight issue. But the interview with Jeff Parker regarding his excellenf First Class series should be interesting.
May 26, 2011 11:45 pm Will definitly get this in trade.
May 26, 2011 11:38 pm I remember reading this along with Runaways. He was on fire during this time.
May 26, 2011 11:31 pm "The wild card: a mysterious cloaked figure who knows an awful lot about Namor. But who is he?"

Doctor Strange!!! Actually I have no idea, that was a complete guess.
May 26, 2011 11:27 pm I love the group line-up but just not a fan of that art at all. Which makes me sad.
May 26, 2011 11:21 pm Maybe Spidey told her he was an Avenger and she was all. "Yeah, right Spidey, YOU joined a team, like THAT will ever happen." But seriously this series had too much against it from the beginning. From May Parker boosters not giving her a chance to guys not wanting to read a comic starring a girl (and there are a lot of you).
On the otherside of the pond DC has had great success with Batgirl so I have to scratch my head my this didn't take. Anyhow, rant over, I plan to get the trade for this as well as her Spider Island mini to show my support for the character.
May 23, 2011 2:16 pm One of the best .1 issues yet published. A) Sets up the cast and gives a passing view on personalities and relationships with other cast. B) Introduces threat and wraps it up within the confines of the issue while also dropping hints on the upcoming storyline. C) Has the regular writing team. D) Has fantastic art without burdening the regular artist with an extra issue to draw keeping him on track for the series.

Really couldn't ask for anything more. With only a few tweaks to certain characters this IS the Byrne version of Alpha Flight while keeping them in modern and relevent. It's about damn time Marvel.
May 23, 2011 1:44 pm Great article. I used to be one of "those" people. It was mainly with event and crossover comics "Atlantis Attacks, that sounds awesome, I have to get them all." I think it was the Mutant Massacre storyline that started it with me (although that was actually good).

I've since shaken that addiction (after No Man's Land) and now only read what I want and collect what I know I'll re-read. I love my library, they have the entire Goon series there. I read it and that's enough for me.
