The Comic Shop Blues
May 27, 2013 8:06 pm Some of my favorite "bad moments:"
* Having an owner rant about the comics industry being crap before going back to his computer (and in full view of customers) looking at porn.
* Calling one store, not being sure if I called the right number since they answer with "yeah?" going in anyway, and being supremely disappointed.
* The creepy, underlit, low ceilinged shop where three guys hovered around watching movies and no one asked if I needed help.
* The "tell me a price you'd like to pay/make me an offer" stores when I'm just looking, not really interested.

DC Histories: Clayface
April 3, 2013 9:39 am Actually, Cassius first appeared in some Shadow of the Bat issues where Azrael as Batman fought Clayfaces 3 and 4 because Abattoir kidnapped Cassius. I believe the storyline was called Creatures of Clay.

January 17, 2013 9:08 am Another great article! Have you done one on Scare Tactics? That was a fun book while it lasted.

State of the Ruinin’
December 19, 2012 1:25 pm Exactly. If I can read something super quick, why do I want to pay $3.99 + for it? And the legitimate downloads where you pay full price but it is considered "borrowing" it and not owning it are disgusting.

INTERVIEW: AVENGERS ARENA with Dennis Hopeless and Kev Walker
December 11, 2012 7:13 pm I read a preview of this. Are you an Avengers Academy fan? Well, get ready to feel like crap. This is one of the WORST things I've read in quite a while, and I've read ALL the new 52 stuff. This is everything I dislike. Death for death's sake, destroying minor characters "because we can" and being a blatant knock-off/rip-off of something more popular.

How Much Will You Pay?
November 20, 2012 10:04 am But some special 100 page or so books, like the recent Ghosts anthology, were $7.99...and nowhere near as engrossing as a paperback.

How Much Will You Pay?
November 20, 2012 10:01 am I have 2 close friends I talk comics with. Out of the 3 of us, I am the only one still buying monthly. They pirate...everything. I can't say as I blame them, what with their respective jobs being threatened with layoffs every few months, and the utter lack of storage space either has.
Reading through this thread, I have not seen the word pirate once, and I know some people are doing it. It's the elephant in the room with $3.99 books, and no one wants to talk about it. I can totally understand why it happens, too. There are many days where I will read through my entire 8-10 book pull list in an hour. I don't particularly speed read either.

DC Histories: Eclipso
November 15, 2012 8:56 am The Creeper's return was actually covered in his 1990's title. He actually reconstituted from his remaining body parts. Yeah, they went there. Also, after Infinite Crisis, the Creeper restarted, and had never appeared before.
