April 5, 2014 1:51 am Lots of fun but I have no desire to see it again. I was kind of shocked at the violence. Lots of people got shot.
December 22, 2013 5:10 pm Also just wanted to thank you guys for another great year. You guys consistently deliver my favorite podcast every week. Hope this show never goes away.
December 22, 2013 5:08 pm Bioshock Infinite seems like a polarizing game but not for the obvious reasons. This video makes a lot of persuasive arguments about why it's not a well designed game. It's a long fascinating deconstruction narrated in a delightful Irish accent. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VdNhwb7iuI4&feature=c4-overview-vl&list=PLE205CA59C798C525 I haven't played it myself (not a big shooter fan) but I enjoy reading the various pros and cons about it. Does that seem weird? For me the best game of the year was DmC: Devil May Cry. Great fun that game.

December 30, 2012 2:49 pm I'm with you Conor Le Mis was awesome.
September 21, 2012 8:45 pm I'm conflicted. Keith Phipps at the AV club, my favorite review site, gave this a really bad review (http://www.avclub.com/articles/dredd,85173/ ). But the rotten tomato meter is really high and the consensus among most critics seems to be quite positive (http://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/dredd_3d/). Throw in the fact that I really dislike 3D movies because they tend to darken the screen in a way that I find very distracting and just don't know what to do with this. Probably just end up flipping a coin.
July 25, 2012 1:10 pm I haven't read Vagabond but for samurai-era manga I love to recommend Ruroni Kenshin before anything else. The story is admittedly mediocre and relies a bit too much on common manga tropes. But the pacing is so fast paced that you hardly notice it. And besides, the real reason you'll wan't to pick up Kenshin is the artwork. No one draws sword fights as well as the Japanese and Nobuhiro Watsuki is one of the country's A+ premiere talents. It's like a more dramatic version of Usagi Yojimbo drawn by one of the best action manga artists.
