"Plus it's coming out pretty damn regularly."

Since I know neither Cullen nor Brian is going to come on here and toot their own horn I, as a shameless Oni employee and supporter of THE SIXTH GUN, am totally willing to steal their bugle.  Not only has Brian penciled, inked, colored, & lettered every single issue of THE SIXTH GUN to date, the book has never once been late! In fact, the only time it was off it's original solicitation date was when issue #4 was ONE WEEK EARLY!

Cullen & Brian have done EVERYTHING right.  They're amazing creators and we at Oni are priveledged to work with them.  Pickup this book people, you won't be disappointed ;)

@jwaesch - As a totally biased employee of Oni Press* and as someone who's read up through issue #6 and an outline of the major arcs, I'd recommend The Sixth Gun ;)

I am trying to be impartial when I recommend The Sixth Gun+ and I have read both series, but The Sixth Gun is just more my cup of tea.

@muddi900

Glad we could help :)

Thanks again to everybody and please USE THE ORDER FORMS and tell your retailers to buy you a copy!  This is an excellent book and we at Oni want to make sure everyone that wants a copy gets one.  The goal is to empower the fans!  You've read the book, you know it's good, make sure your comic shop knows too :D

You sir, are absolutely correct!  We've updated our blog post. You can now download a complete PDF of the first issue of THE SIXTH GUN

@Patman2

Brian Hurtt is a champ!  First five issues are penciled, inked, lettered and the first three are colored and completed.  The first six covers are in house and they're amazing!

Thanks to everyone for your support and PLEASE ORDER AT YOUR LCS NOW! It's imperative that you let the retailers know you want to read this series.  Often indie series wont get ordered until someone comes in and asks for a copy and by then it may be sold out, so make sure to use secure your copy today.  We're hoping the order form will make it easier for fans and retailer alike:

Excellent article Jim, and thank you for the coverage!

As Oni's one man Marketing Machine (powered by solar energy and coffee) I think it's important to point out the obvious: the more we talk about the independent press the more it's read, and the more it's read the more it's discussed.

(cue patriotic music)

I personally believe that things are only getting better for small press, particularly as comic sites and web communities become more willing to review/preview/discuss. But we can't let up!  We need to continue to express our love/hate for the independent publishers in the same way we do the mainstream press!  Talk about what you like and what you don't, not only will it help small press sell books and publish more, it will improve the content and quality of the work and the readership!

(fanfare, fin)

... I know, I know. Lofty goals, but if you don't aim for the stars, etc etc.

Thanks for the article Jim, and thanks to all the fans who go pick up a copy of Resurrection and love or hate it.  We can't do any of this without you!

Excellent review!  We're glad so many people are picking up this new edition.  I just wanted to thank everyone and remind you that we post excerpts from most of our books free to read on our website www.onipress.com.  You can find the first 32 pages of Q & C at www.onipress.com/downloads.php on the far left along with a good number of our other titles.  They're in a *.cbr format so you'll need either CDisplay or Comical to read them.  Both programs are free and we've got links to them near the bottom of the page.  Oni is starting a comic archive at our website with new, free, books going up every few weeks so be sure to stop by regularly.  Thanks again for all your support.
