February 16, 2009 3:51 pm I too have most of the Marvel DVD Roms and love them.  But I've hardly put a dent in them!  That makes for a huge (but thank god only digital) Stack.

@magnum240:  Have to agree.

This sounds like a great trade release.

And...if the price seems too high, there's always somewhere to find stuff cheap online.

February 10, 2009 3:58 pm This seems to be more bang for your buck than DC's Hardcovers usually give you.  Eight issues, oversized format...$25?  Almost sounds too good to be true.
February 10, 2009 2:33 pm $5...I'm definitely in.  This is how I got hooked on the Witchblade trades last year.  Top Cow has a great trade program going.
February 10, 2009 2:32 pm BKV himself has said that this book is an example of some very early writing.  I don't think it's going to be low quality, but just be prepared if it isn't absolutely amazing, like people regard most of BKV's work.

And here's a link to Jeff Smith's news page, confirming the size format for the trade...

 Simps already mentioned Smith's confirmation.

January 6, 2009 7:40 pm I seem to remember that Jeff Smith originally wanted RASL to be published in an oversized format, but that he was convinced by retailers that it would be more feasible to release a standard size book.  He said that he planned for the collections to run oversize though.  I hope that explains the price point on this book.

I agree that seeing a 200 page trade for $30 seems pricey, but...

Each of the issues cost $4.

4x8=32.

 By waiting for the trade on this, you're actually paying less than the cost of the single issues.

I'll probably pick this up for a better price online.

@ Ntpmcrtp:  Check out this recent Newsarama article...

 Larsen is planning on making #145 a good place to jump on.  Savage Dragon is a really fun comic, and I'd really recommend looking into it around that time rather than now, since he's wrapping up some long running stories at the moment.

This certainly sounds like an interesting project...I'd definitely like to be able to compare/contrast this new version with the old.

Augie de Blieck wrote about the HC a few weeks ago.  To anyone interested, I'd recommend checking out the Pipeline for some more info about this book.
