rats! now I need to spend my weekend re-reading the whole brubaker run on Cap! Great kick-off issue! Just wish it had been a giant-size collector's item first issue.

June 10, 2009 10:06 pm Yeah, I do. There's a part of me that had to imagine it being drawn by Jim Lee... but I think the bigger issue is that we are all 18 years older now. I think this book is a good reminder that sometimes we just have to let our comic books be exactly what they are meant to be.... fun.

Agreed, fun books are the best books. That's what this is supposed to be all about. Fraction is doing a great job with these Thor One-Shots. And badass is cool too.

Even f you're not a fan of his unique art, Olivetti's work on Cable grows on you because it is fitting for tone of the story. I think if the same story was drawn by by Jim Lee or David Finch, or even Rob Liefeld, the impression would be totally lost. His style certainly isn't for everybody, but it works here. 

And this is definitely a reader's book, both in words and pictures.
