BornIn1142

Name: Kaarel Jakobson

Bio: An idealistic cynic, a hopeful pessimist, a stupid intellectual... Truly, BornIn1142 is a man of contradictions. Hey, is anyone actually going to read this? I'd be surprised.I'm a guy from Estonia (and I don't blame you for not knowing where that is) currently studying in Scotland. There's really not much more to say. Comics and anime are my two main interests, but I'm also an 'aspiring writer' in the same sense as half the Internet seems to be. Mostly novels/prose, but I'd be lying if I said I wouldn't loooove getting into the comics business. I'm a bit of a douchebag, as you'll notice.

I love the new X-Men status quo. I love the idea of so many mutants, major and minor, stuck together…

The first eight issues of Red Robin have been defined by two things: the very decent action, and the constant,…

July 18, 2012 8:14 pm Dear gods, that Gart Frank Superboy in the article thumbnail looks disturbing...
July 15, 2012 12:41 pm "Figure out how to bring her back?" You make it sound as if that were difficult. It would be supremely easy to reintroduce Stephanie Brown to the DCU. She doesn't have to be Batgirl; she could return to the Spoiler identity. Likewise, there's nothing stopping Cassandra Cain from returning in her Black Bat guise except a completely nonsensical editorial fiat.
July 15, 2012 11:46 am Uh... Barbara being well-known is precisely the reason DiDio is citing. Even if you assume that Barbara Gordon is a sales-magnet - which is yet in NO WAY proven fact - the problem is that this is a fundamentally foolish and myopic approach. Furthermore, it's not even a fundamentally foolish and myopic approach that DC is consistent about.
July 14, 2012 6:11 am Ignoring the fact that I'm a fan of the series, this could be a nice avenue for young girls to discover comics.
June 1, 2012 7:02 pm He has his moments, but he shouldn't be allowed to draw the Hulk, ever. The Hulk looks ridiculous with a Dillon-face.
May 18, 2012 11:25 am What is that Invincible piece implying?
May 2, 2012 10:23 am I had an incredible time with this movie. It's kind of a gold standard for action blockbusters. The only faults I can manage to come up with are mere nitpicks.

March 29, 2012 2:28 pm Truly amazing. Somehow, J. M. DeMatteis was able to predict the inexplicable and arbitrary perversion of Maxwell Lord's character 15 years before it happened!
