August 29, 2011 7:10 pm YES! The JSA are back and sooner rather than later! "Golden Age" and "Starman" are two of my favorite books. Robinson has great love and knowledge of these classic characters. I was not familiar with Nicola Scott's work until recently but wow what a fantastic choice, perfect style for this book. My fears for this reboot were just lowered and my hopes and excitement just went up ten fold. Can't wait for the Fawcett/Shazam Earth 3 and Seven Soldiers of Victory Earth 4. DC finally realized that the multiverse is a brillient concept with unlimited possibilities not the burden they've made it out to be for 25 years. And they've already got all the characters and mechinisms in place (like Flash, Booster Gold, Rip Hunter, Waverider, etc.) to integrate and crossover these worlds whenever they want. Our long national nightmare is finally over!

Will the spit curl will be added later with CGI? What's up with the muted colors? The suit looks like it's made out of rubber and has scales. The colors are all wrong. Should be blue and red not gray and maroon. I hated that in Superman Returns. The maroon cape just doesn't look right. The hair's too long and looks slicked. Don't like it at all. Already disappointed.

August 3, 2011 7:24 pm Oh my God! Was there this much flack over Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury? Did everyone forget that Fury was originally a greying middle aged white World War II vet. So what, times change. Laurence Fishburne is a great actor. Now just write him a good part.
July 25, 2011 8:38 pm Love the artwork and the style is really interesting. Hate the costume, especially the boots. Not sure how I feel about turning Kara into Power Girl which is what DC seems to be doing with the new aggressive personality. Punch first ask questions later, angry, giant chip on her shoulder sounds more like PG. But I'm still on board, we'll see how this plays out.
July 24, 2011 10:24 am Wally is gone ... and he's not coming back. Wow. Harsh!

Everyone comes back. It's just a matter of how and when.

Why does the Flash family always have to suffer most in these reboots. Is it the red shirts?

I wouldn't mind so much if he met a heros death but just being written out of the story...? Who'd he piss off? Did he ask for too much money in his contract negotiations?
July 24, 2011 9:53 am Superman is my favorite character so I was most concerned about how his reboot would be handled. I will be buying all of the Superman family of books and I am willing to wait and read the stories before judging but frankly what I've seen and read so far is a bit discouraging and confusing.

The artwork above ranges from good, to interesting, to flat out bad. I love Rags Morales on Action and I'm okay with the logo tee shirt and jeans since we know it is only temporary but the short cape just looks ... stupid. I am not familiar with Merino but his artwork on Superman looks good. I'm okay with his style but I'm not feeling the new costume (which I know he didn't design). I know it's a Kryptonian battle suit so the armor-like appearence makes sense. Even the shoulder and kee pads make sense. The collar and sleeves have a military look ... okay I get that too. Artistically though the belt and the boots just don't work. Overall the suit is very complex with a lot of detail which I think is going to be a problem. Some artists are going to draw it well and make it work (like Jim Lee) and others are going to get caught up in the details and the results will be less than stellar. As much as I love George Perez's artwork I hate his covers on the first two issues of Superman (and it really pains me to say that). His art looks dated. I also question his writing ability. He's never really written anything memorable. His Wonder Woman reboot in the 1980's was uninspired. Why is he writing such an important book as Superman?

I love the images of Supergirl above although after seventy five years Superman finally lost the red underwear and Supergirl ... found them? Also the boots look silly. This is another costume that will look either very good or really awful depending on who draws it. Hopefully they will explain why she wears the "S" logo from the electric blue Superman suit rather than the El family crest that Superman wears.

I really haven't seen enough of Superboy's artwork to comment one way or another. Although since he appears to wind up in a version of his current tee-shirt and jeans outfit (not really  costume) it makes more sense. This is now an homage to Superman's original appearence as we are learning in Action comics. I like that connection.
July 24, 2011 8:22 am Animal Man, Swamp Thing and JL Dark are the three books I am looking forward to most from this reboot. I just hate the title Justice League Dark. I think that might actually turn people away thinking it's just another super hero book. The art on all of them looks fantastic. Still hate the Superman costume redesign and the more I see it the more I hate it. Although I miss the fish-nets, the Zatanna redesign isn't too bad. Remember folks she is a Vegas style performer and what she wears is supposed to be a theatrical costume not a fighting costume. In her case fish-nets and high heels do make sense but that's a minor complaint.

And isn't that Wonder Woman back in something that very closely resembles her traditional red, white and blue outfit?
July 22, 2011 9:33 pm @onetone I think no one asked about the JSA because they were afraid or didn't want to know the answer.
