February 29, 2012 12:26 pm The difference between Alan Moore using other people's characters and Before Watchmen / Blackest Night is: Alan Moore has repeatedly taken existing ideas, fleshed them out to an incredible degree, and built his own world around them. In the aforementioned titles, other writers merely plug their own words into his newly fleshed-out characters and worlds. It would be the difference between a great Star Wars story using ideas set forth in the films vs. Michael Bay making a seventh Star Wars movie for a huge sum of cash.

January 7, 2011 3:36 pm Ron, you basically like everything all the time so this list is a bit gratuitous. Show me your "worst things" list!
June 14, 2010 3:40 pm So glad someone else noticed this. Great post. I hate being pandered to by these schmucks.
April 6, 2010 2:45 pm Seems like a good one to read in the store.
April 6, 2010 2:41 pm I seriously LOVE the Moon Knight character. Despite all the overcomplications, revisions, bad storylines, and so on. But Deadpool is the WORST. No idea why this character is appearing in every damn book lately. Is Marvel seeding this to push forward a potential film opportunity or something? No one I talk to likes Deadpool. But I have to buy this issue anyway because it's MK. Damn it.
April 6, 2010 2:36 pm Who cares. Whoever it is will come back in a year or so. LAME.

I also don't like his little wrist rocket thing, or the whole World Counter-Terrorism blah blah blah. And a high tech headquarters? Why ascribe all this accoutrement to a character whose historic appeal is his rugged, non-pretentious minimalism? Again, it might be good but it strikes me right now as being overloaded with crap that will clutter up a good story.
