June 30, 2008 6:41 pm BQ: Football season is mere months away
June 21, 2008 1:54 am I don't think there really are any actors of the appropriate age group that could pull off Cap. The problem is that actors like Hartnett and Bana don't really have the gravitas to be Cap. When the announcement for Downey to play Stark went out I could almost instantly see him in the role, the witty, quipy, snarky banter from Kiss Kiss Bang Bang could easily be used to make Stark, and I could see that. But when I hear suggestions like Damon and Pitt, they just dont make sense. I think people leap too quickly at actors with buzz cuts and strong chins. You guys did the "cast the avengers giveaway" thing wayy back in the earlier episodes of the show, and for Cap no one could really nail down a modern actor that fits what Cap is. The best suggestion i think from that contest was Steve McQueen. That guy's got gravitas. But thats the problem, i keep finding myself thinking about who could play Cap and saying things like "A younger" or "If he were still alive". I don't know if there actually are any actors out there in the right age range that could really really nail it like Downey did. But then again Stark doesnt carry anything close to the weight that the role of Cap does, so he didn't need to be someone you wanted to follow. He just needed to have a shit-ton of charisma and charm.

My store has a warehouse feel to it. Open ceilings with giant metal girders holding up the roof that from the outside looks like a tin roof you would see on a shed. Concrete floors and exposed piping. The outer brick walls even look a bit like they are sinking into the ground. That being said, the store is fantastic. It's the biggest comics retailer in new england but it doesnt feel that way. Almost all of the employee's know you by name, and they know your likes and dislikes. I've been to stores in New York, New Jersey, Maine, Chicago, Boston, and Florida but none of them are better than That's Entertainment in Worcester MA. If your in the area you should check it out. Especially if your into back-issue buying. http://thatseco.ipower.com/index2.html

April 14, 2008 5:09 pm BQ: I work third shift, and over the summer for a while I work a second job to help out a friend. This combined with needing to run errands or trying to have a social life keeps me up for days at a time. Over this past summer there was a point where I hadn't slept in 5 days. And then I slept for about a day and a half.

March 27, 2008 8:28 am My first car should have been a 94 jetta, but I saved myself 4 grand by getting a 90 civic hatchback. And then it started...leaky gas tank, shot alternator, radiator, some 90 dollar hose, and then the radiator again before I sent it to a scrap yard. I would have been much better off with a floor-less bus filled with lifeless, yet still smiling, muppets.
March 7, 2008 3:50 pm The Hi-tech owl costume, and the classic looking Archie are going to look a little silly together. But that will probably work better that way. Making a Hi-tech archie would really take me out of the movie I think. Rorschach looks great! Hurrm.
March 6, 2008 6:28 am I just tore through most of stack the other day. It started to frighten me so I skipped out on work for a few days for the sole purpose of getting through the stack, and i failed. I got through a couple of goon trades, 4 fables trades, batman: the man who laughs, spider-man blue, daredevil yellow, fear agent volume 3, 2 transmetroplitan trades, 2 hellboys, the surrogates, and the first two volumes of the league of extrordinary gentlemen. Im still left with 2 starman trades, 3 strangers in paradise pocket books, 1 fables trades, and the cap omnibus. And all my work is basically for nothing since today the amazon delivery man is bringing me a big heavy package, to more than erase all my hard work.

On pipeline this week Augie mentioned the controversial ridiculousness of Mighty Avengers, so I knew something was coming. When I saw the second double page spread I groaned. The Art was great, but I was so mad about the 6 pages that I flipped through the rest of the issue, and had to go back like 2 hours later to finish it.

February 21, 2008 8:03 am Back around issue 150 of iron man, this same thing basically happened. Iron man and Doom went back to Camelot, and it was kind of fun. I read that years ago, and i dont think im ready for another wacky doom and iron-man in time arc.
