@labor: i think i'm gonna have to read our worlds at war again because i bought the trade on a trip to the states and it made no sense to me...literally, i couldn't follow the text.it seemed to jump form pillar to post things would happen and then it would jump to a scene where characters seemed to be in different locations at the same time and worst of all Doomsday(superman killer) was killed and as far as i'm aware his resurrection was never explained?

Final night was awesome though, i too am a sucker for redemption stories, i used to love the big summer events, Zero hour, final night, Genesis, DC 1000000, not so keen on all the tie ins but a nice four week story all tied up in a bow at the end made me happy. now we have to wait 7-8 months for a big story to conclude!

ps: random question, has there ever been an elseworld Batman: sherlock holmes story? I really miss elseworlds and the gorgeously painted Batman: Houdini was a firm favourite, Kingdom come and gotham by gaslight, superman redson,  being the other gold nuggets in the elseworlds pot.

that was a very personal post...thank you for that, it was unexpected and really really nice to see real experiences and genuine emotion in a post where you wouldn't expect it. friends often come from the least likely of places but you never know who is going to touch your life in unexpected ways and how you are going to affect the people in your life. the fact that your friendship had affected suzie so much is awesome. imagine how many others you affect and will never know it. i'm a brit so don't have thanbksgiving but i have plenty to be thankful for and try to remember that day by day.

keep up the great work, this site rocks and i wish i could get on it more often

this is the one time being a brit helped me out. i hadn't heard a peep about the end of the issue and it took me by surprise. I'm not the biggest supes fan, in fact i'm a massive batman man but i have to admit at the moment the supes books are more coherant, and more fun than the bat books. this was my pick too and rightly so. great choice

holy chuff! this was the first ever american comic book i bought from a forbidden planet (a uk chain of comic book stores). This one issue got me hooked, i sought out all the back issues trades etc and truly got into the comic world all because i discovered (thanks to a great friend) that my favourite animated show was also a comic! Now 12 years later i'm spending almost £50 (i think about $80) a week on comics. I get almost everything I can....so my heart thanks the good friend for this big bad start, but my bank balance hates him for it!!!

Thanks for the nostalgia trip

i dropoped flash due to it's general suckyness but can relate to ya Ron, i'm a massive batman freak and wouldn't drop them ever. as far as bruce jones on checkmate, i'll give it a go. i've loved checkmate so far and who knows he may just give us a great story.stranger things have happened!

PS R.I.P shadowpact... i dropped it cos it stopped..that makes me sad

i loved this book, and loved that it tkaes place in my homeland. Yes britain loves comics too (we even had our own comicon last weekend, dc showed up but no marvel, boooo). but i also loved the mighty and new tie ins, i love the fact that htey are both filling in the major subplots, and answering the big questions. heaven forbid a book focusses more on plot than action, but i've loved them all. So far all the invasion tie ins have been worth my money, i've had action, adventure and learnt a thing or two that i never knew about the marvbel universe. They may not have turned up to our comicon but man they can write a good book
