This TP collects issues:
Uncanny X-Men #376 + #377, Cable #73 - #76, X-Men #96 + #97, Wolverine #145 - #147, X-Man #59.
The plot of this TP is that there is a man named Apocalypse that is planning to rule the world and because of a prophecy that he will achieve that using twelve mutants he tries to capture them, and to capture other mutants to serve as his "horsemen" (Four Horseman of the Apocalypse).
Despite the fact that this TP collects a lot of issues it does not contain the entire story - issues that are connected but happened before the TP are referenced in the TP but are not included in it, and since this is a number one TP I doubt they will be included, and that made me feel like I was thrown into an event in the middle of it - like I missed a big part of the event.
The Skrulls also get involved which are green shape shifting aliens, and a special mutant is resurrected in Egypt, and the X-Men together with their enemies need to fight Apocalypse.
The cover of this TP is cut a little shorter than the pages, thus making them stick out but the gap is small.
There are some errors in the drawing and a lack in details sometimes like someone's head is without a mouth (but the head is small so maybe drawing a mouth would look weird, or that the artist just forgot), Cable's glowing eye is sometimes the left one and sometimes the right, and there are some spelling mistakes but barely any and some panel recycling - but also barely any.
Also in some of the issues the drawing of hairs looks like fish scales.
Issue X-Man #59 is just a few pages - I guess the rest wasn't connected to the story so it wasn't included.
In the beginning of this TP there is an explanation about what happened until now, and before some of the issues there is a short explanation about the team or individual (X-Men, Cable) and there are a lot of editorial comments that direct towards issues that weren't included in this TP, and there are a lot of thought balloons and many of the characters are ones people would recognize from the 90s X-Men cartoon series and from the recent X-Men movies so it won't be hard to understand what is happening.
In the beginning it was really boring since it felt like I was thrown right in the middle of an event and after I read a big part of the TP and the loose ends were tied and it focused mostly on the X-Men it got more interesting and at a certain point I couldn't wait to get to the store and buy the second TP but at the end I was left with a 'meh' feeling and I don't feel like I need to finish reading this event and that I'm fine with what I read.
At the beginning there were too many characters to follow and events all over the place and it felt like the ending of something I never got to read.
The drawing styles vary - the major style is a nice one with many details and a noticeable use of ink but not in an exaggerated way, and coloring using the computer and there is a nice attention to details that add to the enjoyment of reading those parts. There are small heads with no mouth every once in a while but it doesn't really matter.
The second style is in Cable issues and the coloring is very gray and bleak and there are too many details that were drawn using ink and it looks ridiculous and Cable sometimes looks like a human mountain and everybody are very thin and muscular - in an exaggerated way and it is annoying.
The third style is also in Cable issues and it has a heavy use of the computer that makes this look like a cartoon series and it doesn't have the first style's heavy use of ink to contradict it, and it reminds me of the cartoon series "Kim Possible".
I only liked the first style of drawing.
The different parts are obviously divided using the covers and alternative covers but there is also a page with a weird drawing in blue that is in the middle of issues and I don't know if it's a mistake or done on purpose since sometimes those pages are just several pages apart.
Meh - nothing special. I was very bored in the beginning but towards the end I got into it but at the end I wasn't interested in reading the second TP.
