X-Men Noir was a fine start to the Noir line, but with every new mini, X-Men kind of got lost in the shuffle.

Fred Van Lente has crafted an excellent sequel that takes aspects of the first mini and ramps it up to a new level. With this issue we see the “All-New X-Men” in action and we realize they’re only X-Men in name.

It’s an interesting choice in using the Golden Age Angel as our hero, and even more interesting the conditions this world’s Xavier puts him through. It’s a man in a penitentiary with strange in-mates, not to mention a warden who is an S&M Emma Frost…wait…that’s redundant, isn’t it?

I loved the ending and I think next two issues of this mini-series will a great surprise.

Story: 4 - Very Good
Art: 5 - Excellent
