I’ve read the first 3 books and their stories were pretty good but the Punisher is either barely in them or is a vengeful deus ex machina for each story. In this outing Castle has more of a character than the grim deliverer of death.
Frank, as usual, is unrelenting in his pursuit to punish but his pursuit this time is also to save a family.
The small things that are great are the panels where we get an insight to how weak Frank still is to the memories of his family. He is disgusted with even the idea of other families being torn apart as their daughters, mothers, sisters are sold into slavery as objects for exploitation.
Of course there is a bit of a twist along the way and it and the entire style of the book are very close to an Activity issue. Edmonson is familiar with Operatives and I would love to read more stories about The Punisher under his expert pen.
