With this second issue, Zack Whedon continues to show use that all Terminator material outside the first two films need not be all bad. The series follows Kyle Reese before he is assigned to be sent back in time trying to reach a human city with his companions.

Whedon handles the post-apocalyptic setting with the skill of Kirkman in The Walking Dead. He introduces a lot of cool ideas into his comic (the first encounter with a terminator that looks human last issue and a group of renegade terminator hunters this issue) while making sure to retain proper focus on character development and interaction.

And I won’t spoil the ending for you but the series manages to work in the time travel aspect of the Terminator mythos in a very interesting way.

Story: 5 - Excellent

  1. Love this book!  I hope they keep up with the franchise.

I also loved ‘Sarah Connor Chronicles,’ but it was mostly Kyle-less, so this feels like the missing link.
