Tensions continue to rise between the Foot Clan and their rivals in ninja-related crime, the Savate. A mind-controlled Leonardo continues to do Shredder’s dirty work, while Karai begins to plot against Leo, believing him to be a threat to her standing within the Foot Clan (this plot thread is expanded on in the recent Karai microseries). The remaining three turtle brothers struggle to determine the best course of action, while Splinter forges an unlikely alliance with the turtles’ mutant enemy, Old Hob.

Cityfall continues to be one of the best stories to come out of the new TMNT series since the book started two years ago. Plot elements that had been planted at the very beginning of the series are beginning to be called into play, and every character is being given their moment in the spotlight. Tom Waltz continues to spin an excellent yarn that doesn’t skimp on character moments or on moving the larger plot forward. And not enough can be said about the art of Mateus Santolouco. With dynamic action sequences and fantastic facial expressions, he has very quickly made the book his own. I would go so far as to say that TMNT comics haven’t looked this good since the heyday of Eastman and Laird. If you’re at all a fan of the TMNT, this arc cannot be missed.

Story: 4 - Very Good
Art: 5 - Excellent
