I didn’t grow up with the Teen Titans, hell I didn’t even grow up with comics, but The Teen Titans have been one DC team ive always had an interest in. To get ready for JT Krul’s run, I read all of Geoff Johns’ run and I feel I have enough of a grasp on the voices of the characters at this point to comment on it. This book was pure fun. Krul has a great grasp of these characters and Nicola Scott’s art is perfect for the Teen Titans. This issue sets up the news status quo for the Titans, establishing interpersonal relationships between the core group and a new villian for the first arc. Krul gives the team a new feel, making them appear more battle tested and confident while retaining the teenage insecurities of the characters. If Krul can make the titans as important to the DC universe as Geoff Johns did in his run, then I think this creative team will have a solid book on their hands. If you have young teenage kids this is a perfect book to give them (so far). Pick this book up, give it a chance you wont be disappointed.

Story: 4 - Very Good
Art: 5 - Excellent
