I admit that I picked up this book because of Abnett and Lanning. As you find out on the last page though, Abnett and Lanning are credited with the "Plot" while Johnson is credited with the "Dialogue". That said, I still found the writing to be enjoyable. I laughed a few times which is to be expected with a DnA book. And, even though the plot didn't seem entirely new (Think: Honey, I shrunk the Superman. There was even an encounter with a giant ant...), there were enough tweaks that I'm looking forward to the next book. The only real downside to this book is the art. I haven't really seen Portacio's work since his Uncanny X-Men stuff from the 90s, and it seems as though he isn't even drawing at that level. Some of his art is fine, but some of it is pretty bad. On more than one page, Superman's lips look very strange. Pick up this book if you're looking for something fun to read that doesn't require too much thinking!

Totally agree with this review. It’s a simple, fun book.
I’ve never been a fan of Portacio, I hated the artwork in the Batman Confidential run, but this wasn’t that bad. Some pages were better than others and I really liked the look of the Prankster.
