I don’t know. This one didn’t grab me like previous issues of SUPERGIRL did. In general, this issue just feels…rougher than previous ones.

Asrar’s art, in particular, while attractive, lacks a certain consistency it has in earlier issues – or perhaps that’s consistency WITH earlier issues? Kara’s proportions frequently seem strange in this issue, even without comparison to previous renditions of her from these last few months. Just not quite what I’ve come to expect.

Meanwhile, the plot advancement in this issue is indelicate, to say the least. Kara continues to do internal monologue, and that still works, but every other character that appears in this issue does so for the purpose of spouting exposition. The writing feels impatient. I can understand that, certainly, and especially because most readers will already KNOW that Krypton blew up and everything because, I mean, really, we know that…but the solution to getting past that quickly is not necessarily to devote a few pages to just telling the reader (and Kara) about it. More interesting things could have been done.

And I guess that’s my main feeling about this issue: the ideas aren’t flawed. They could just have been made more interesting.
