Why have the only good McDuffie issues been the ones where the team hangs out in The Lounge?

Some very arch and wry dialogue here… and I’m wondering what Conner will think of the Ollie/Dinah interactions.

Overall the book feels like its a Meta-Comment by McDuffie, an admission of sorts that his run has been a disappointment to the fans. You wonder if he got to do anything he really wanted to, aside from bring in the Milestone characters. Yet one line in the book makes you question how happy he is with that.

As for the art: Shane Davis is wasted writing a talking head’s book. Seriously.

    Yeah I definately got the feeling McDuffie was venting through the characters dialogue. Especially since it seems like he is quietly being pushed off the book.

    Which is somewhat of a shame, IF we had gotten the JLU McDuffie instead of whatever the hell these past two(?) years was.
