Well, this book has finally wrapped up.  As near as I can tell, it came out every two months or so, so I am going to have to reread them all together before I can make my mind up about the story as whole.  I would have to consider it canon, though, as it helps to explain the change in Indy’s characterization between the events of Temple of Doom and Raiders of the Lost Ark.

The dialogue was spot-on, matching the witty banter from the movies.  The mood felt big and epic, like a worthy climax to a regular Indiana Jones movie.  On the second read however, the final fight seems a bit rushed and the super-natural/spiritual element is never really explained.  Oh, well.  It beats psychic aliens, I guess.

The art was a mixed bag, as it has been throughout the miniseries.  We are treated to some huge landscape shots and beautifully realized backgrounds, but the quality of the likenesses varies from panel to panel.  It is even difficult to tell one character from another at times.  Over all, it is still better than most licensed properties.

I came to this series hoping to find the long-overdue perfect translation of Indy from screen to panel.  I’m not sure this quite lived up to expectations, but I enjoyed it nonetheless.

Story: 4 - Very Good
Art: 3 - Good
