When my wife saw me reading this, she asked “Did you buy that on purpose?” I’m not exactly sure what that’s supposed to mean, but I gather that I’m supposed to be mildly embarrassed to be reading a book titled Groo. Well I don’t care about that. This book is fantastic. Argonnes is a master at details, and Evanier is funny and clever. Groo is a book I loved years and years ago. And while I handled all my other comics carefully and stored them in plastic bags, Groo was a book I would fold up and read in the bath. Something to sit back and relax with and enjoy the stories of the dunce-headed barbarian, along with many quirky little gems that can be found around the pages. And the beautiful production and coloring on this series has really highlighted Argonnes’ artwork. I wish there had been a few more funny bits, but this was an enjoyable comic book. I hope to see Groo again in 5 years or so.

Story: 4 - Very Good
Art: 5 - Excellent
